I was feeling kind of "artsy" and I took inspiration from some of my dad's watercolor paintings when I was creating these cards featuring Brusho Crystal Colour and the Stampin' UP! set called Waterfront.
I have a FREE VIDEO TUTORIALfor you at the bottom of this blog post so you can see how I made these cards.
In a nutshell, you sprinkle the Brusho directly onto the rubber (photopolymer) stamp and spritz with water, then stamp onto watercolor paper!!!!!
I hope you will give this fun technique a try!! Let me know what stamp set you use!! I can't wait to hear about it!
Enjoy the free VIDEO TUTORIAL below!

Stampin' Up! supplies available below in my online store!
Sneak Peek!! Swirls & Curls embossing folder coming on Sept. 5, 2018 in the Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog!! (don't miss it on pg 5, #147923!!). I paired it up with the limited-time Blended Season bundle floral stamp, stitched die cut, and Watercolor pencil assortment #2 pack!
Did you see my recent post (here) about coloring with your watercolor pencils, then blending the color with the Wink of Stella pen? It works great and gives you such beautiful shimmer while blending your coloring!! I used that technique on the flower image above.
Below: I colored on the Petal Pink rhinestones (#146914) with my Stampin' Blends markers to better coordinate the colors with my project. Thanks to my team member Gloria for this great idea!
I embossed the Swirls & Curls embossing folder image with Granny Apple Green cardstock, layered it onto Pineapple Punch cardstock and onto a Thick Whisper White folded card base.
I have been enjoying using my custom Spectrum pad, that I inked with Stampin' Up! ink refills (see this post). Today I am sharing a different way to use your rainbow pad... I used "direct to paper" technique with my watercolor paper, spritzed it, added more ink with my refills and blended with the Aqua Painter! I stamped images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set on top and I love it!
See step by step "Direct to Paper" photos below...
drag the rainbow pad across your paper, pressing as you go
spritz with water
add more ink or more water if desired
Note.. you will get different results with different paper. I used Stampin' UP! watercolor paper on my card today.
After the background dried thoroughly, I stamped the tree trunk from the Sheltering Tree set in Early Espresso ink, then stamped the leaf image in several shades of green. I used Call me Clover, Lemon Lime Twist, and Shaded Spruce.
I matted the watercolor paper with Gorgeous Grape cardstock, then added it to a folded Mango Melody card base.

Create bold and colorful images using Brusho Crystal Colour pigments!! I used the Stampin' UP! Beautiful Day stamp set, with its big, bold images, to highlight the Brusho coloring on these handmade cards today!
I sprinkled Brilliant Red, Prussian Blue and Yellow Brusho onto a scrap of watercolor paper, spritzed it with water, and when it was all dry, I stamped the butterfly image with Archival Black ink to the watercolor image. I used my Stamparatus to do this... read on to see why! :)
So you may ask, WHY did you use the Stamparatus to stamp the butterfly?
1. because I'm stamping on watercolor paper, which is bumpy and porous
2. because it's a pretty bold outline image
3. because I knew I'd need to reink and restamp this this a few times to get it really solid black and the Stamparatus is the perfect way to ensure that it gets stamped in the right place!
I mounted the butterfly image with Stampin' Dimensionals onto my card. The card base is Daffodil Delight, and I used 2 patterns from the Petal Passion black and white designer paper pack. The gold accents are from the Painted with Love gold vinyl sticker collection.
Above & Below: I stamped the flower image from the Beautiful Day stamp set with Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and heat embossed it with my heat tool. When I painted it with the Brusho Crystal Colour pigments, the stamped outline resists the ink. Quite magical!

Thank you so much for your kind comments about the Waterfront stamp set sunset, palm tree card I posted last weekend here. It features a watercolor background created with Brusho Crystal Colour and a water spritzer! So easy!
I hope that you will enjoy this free Video tutorial below with all the info you will need to create this card!
if you are having trouble viewing the video, you can always see it here on my YouTube channel.
Hope you enjoyed this card.. it is one of my most favorites ever! :)
Are you ready for summer? I hope my Waterfront Palm Tree Beach card idea helps set the mood for summer! I had the best time creating this after being inspired by an Instagram post by @tamihewlett. Is it ok to say that I'm totally in love with this card?
I created the background of this card by sprinkling Brusho colour crystals onto watercolor paper, then spritzing the background with water and a Stampin' Spritzer. When it was dry I started to stamp images from the Waterfront stamp set on top with Soft Suede, Garden Green, Lemon Lime Twist and a touch of Early Espresso ink. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Beautiful Day set, stamped in Dapper Denim ink on Whisper White cardstock.
2 tips: the palm tree "tops" are stamped with both Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist for added dimension, and I used an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker to outline the left edge of each palm tree trunk to give it just a bit of dimension as well.
At the very end, I decide to paint some water in the foreground with the Prussian Blue Brusho and an Aqua Painter. Would you want to see a video tutorial for this card?
Thanks for your kind comments! I created a VIDEO TUTORIAL
Deciding which colors to highlight in the mat and folded card base wasn't easy. So many vibrant Stampin' Up! cardstock colors would have gone well with this card, but I selected Dapper Denim and Flirty Flamingo.
DID you know.. this stamp set is only $17 !!!!! What a deal!
If you are wondering about the "Hearts & Stars" wood embellishments on my card... it's because I love the beach more than anywhere else on earth.. so I just had to add hearts to this card. I think my mom would have loved this card because the ocean was the one place where she'd rather be, too!

One of the most popular stamp sets in the Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog is the Waterfront set. It is so amazing and versatile! Today I am sharing 3 cards that look like little watercolored pieces of art, but they are stamped with the Waterfront set!!
After stamping each watercolor paper die cut circle with the Waterfront set, I added some water with an Aqua Painter. If you want a really blurry, watercolor look, add more water. If you want more defined images, add less water.

I just love the "wooden" adirondak chair on these cards. I die cut it with the Wood Textures paper stack and the Seasonal Layers thinlit dies. See THIS POST for more info and another card idea!
Top card: I love the blue glimmer paper from the Myths & Magic suite collection on page 37 in the 2018 Occasions catalog.. I think it lends a special touch to this card! The ribbon on the glimmer paper card is the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon.
Bottom card: the strip of designer paper on this note card is from the Eastern Palace specialty dsp pack and I added some Bermuda Bay ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration Shimmery ribbon pack.
The Stampin' UP! ink pad colors mentioned in the video above that I used for these cards are: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, Lemon Lime Twist, Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. You can purchase them in my online Stampin' UP! store.. just scroll to the bottom of this post and click any product image.

This amazing Petal Palette stamp set will be available on Jan. 3, 2018 in the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.
I kind of went crazy stamping and coloring with this set... I LOVE this set!
When die cutting smaller images like the birdie, use Washi Tape to hold the die in place while you run it through the Big Shot:
ABOVE LEFT: I created this card with the flower image and greeting from the Petal Palette stamp set. I die cut the finished colored flower with the matching Petals & More thinlit dies (available in a 10% money saving bundle!), then added it to a Whisper White thick notecard. I used the Petal Passion Designer paper on the note card and added some new Whisper White 1/4" Organza ribbon. You'll find all of these fun supplies on page 23 of the NEW 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog!
ABOVE RIGHT: I created this "Berry Burst" card with the Petal Passion Memories & More card flower image that I colored with watercolor pencils and cut out with Paper Snips. I added it to a Whisper White thick notecard. I used the Petal Passion Designer paper on the note card and added some new Berry Burst 3/8" metallic-edge ribbon. You'll find all of these fun supplies on pages 13 and 23 of the NEW 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog!
Thank you for joining me today! I hope you will enjoy watercoloring and creating your own handmade cards!
Check out page 24 in the 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog for these amazing preprinted Petal Passion Memories & More cards!! Use them for memory keeping, card making, tags, mini albums and more!
I love these beautiful floral cards... the pack includes 72 double sided preprinted cards, and I grabbed my Stampin' Up! reinkers, a clear block and my Aqua Painters and just started coloring them in!! How easy, and how pretty!
You can leave them black and white, or color them in with Stampin' Blends, markers, sponge daubers, watercolor pencils, Brusho, or watercolor them like I did here.
As you can see, I used these cards to tuck into the Prize Patrol gifts I'm mailing to my Luv 2 Stamp Group team this month. I stamped them with a stamp that my niece, Holly, made for me. You can check out her Etsy store here.
How to Color the Petal Passion cards:
Simply drop a couple drops of each color you want to use onto a clear block, then pick up some color with your wet Aqua Painter and start coloring in! DO NOT USE too much water, as these are not watercolor paper, but you can still very easily blend and shade with more than one color like I did here.
We'd love to have you join our Luv 2 Stamp Group! Read more HERE!

Now that you have mostly likely ordered the very popular Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest Bundle (or stamp set), I thought you might enjoy this idea to stretch your "sunflower" stamp image and learn how to create a poinsettia flower with it to create a holiday or Christmas card!
I used Stampin' Up! Watercolor paper and a Stampin' Spritzer filled with water to create this beautiful holiday card idea, turning the sunflower into a poinsettia!
It's really quite easy, simply use the Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red ink pads (per above) and stamp them onto Watercolor paper with the Painted Harvest Sunflower image and then spritz with water and the Stampin' Spritzer until you have achieved the look you want!
Then stamp the center when the flower is dry. I used Daffodil Delight ink.
For a fun layered greeting on any card, layer the Stitched Shape framelits and the layering ovals, circles or squares!
If you have not used the Stitched Shape framelits and Layering Ovals, watch my free video tutorial HERE.
I stamped the Season of Cheer greeting (from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set) onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, then die cut it with the Stitched Shape Oval, and used Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the Layering Ovals framelits to make the scalloped border. A few Gold Metallic shapes werethe perfect little touch to finish the card.
This card was created on a Cherry Cobbler folded card base, and the beautiful diagonal striped Old Olive printed paper is found in the Merry Little Christmas package of paper, pg 12, in the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog. The Gold edge ribbon is on page 199 in the annual catalog. See below for links to all Stampin' Up! products in my online store.

Flowers flowers flowers... I love flowers and I love creating Stampin Up! cards with flower stamps, flower die cuts and floral printed paper! Today's handstamped card features all 3!
I enjoyed creating several cards using the Rose Garden thinlit die and some watercolor paper I had left over from my High Tide Lighthouse cards (here). After I was done making several High Tide cards, I set aside the left over watercolored backgrounds and I knew I'd enjoy making something with them at a future date.
And.. ta-da! I used the leftover watercolor backgrounds with the Rose Garden thinlit and die cut pretty roses and leaves in my Big Shot!! I also die cut some dragonflies with the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and the same watercolored backgrounds.
On the card above, I also decided to lightly stamp the floral image from the Wood Words stamp set over the water color background. I love how it turned out! Click HERE to see how to make that smoosh watercolor background!
I made the card above in May for Christine's birthday in June. I added the Live every moment sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set to the front, and also decided, why not make the inside pretty as well? I had the Wood Words flower stamp out, and an extra dragonfly die cut.. so.... this is what I did...
Easy crafting tip to adhere the dragonfly die cut to your card:
These are some of the backgrounds I created for the High Tide cards, and I die cut the large roses and leaves, as well as the dragonflies out of the left over pieces.
Here are the die cuts on the left over watercolor background pieces... neat way to use up extras, don't you think?
Rose Garden Thinlit dies are found on page 216 of the current 2017-2018 catalog, #140619 online here.
Click HERE for more info about how I like to store my thinlits and framelits on magnet sheets from Stamp-n-Storage.
The Wood Words stamp set is found on page 159 in the current Stampin' UP! catalog, or #143925 (wood mount) online, or #143928 (clear mount) in my online store here.
White Perfect Accents are great for flower centers, and the Powder Pink ribbon looks great on this card, too!
I added a strip of Powder Pink "Fresh Florals" designer paper on the right edge of this card to pull in that pretty pink color and more flowers.
