The lovely Just Because hostess set is only available for a limited time!! It’s in the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and is only guaranteed available through May 24, 2019. See the Just Because hostess set HERE online, and use your hostess rewards to purchase it while supplies last! See all retiring hostess sets here.
I recently attended a crafting retreat hosted by Kurstan and she taught us several amazing watercolor techniques. We created this card featuring the Just Because Hostess set and a watercolored background.
We did a watercolor wash with Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green ink on a piece of watercolor paper with our Aqua Painter, then used the Rectangle Stitched dies to cut out the center to use on our note card.
We stamped the pot image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Then we splattered some Granny Apple Green ink with our Aqua Painter onto the finished rectangle, and colored in the leaves for some additional green pops of color with the Aqua Painter and Granny Apple Green ink.
The Stitched Rectangle is mounted to a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and onto designer paper (now retired Sale-a-Bration paper) and then onto a Whisper White Note Card.
Can you tell we were all having WAY TOO MUCH FUN!? Check out Kurstan’s event schedule HERE. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, I hope you’ll consider joining us at an upcoming event!
You only have about a week left to order Retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and have them guaranteed in stock. After May 24th, if the retiring stamp sets run out of stock, they will NOT be made again!
Of course, my favorite retiring set is the Ribbon of Courage set I helped design a few years ago when I reached my $1 million in personal sales! You can see it in my ONLINE Stampin’ UP! Store here.
I designed this set in honor of my mom and grandma who both battled Breast Cancer. My hope was that it would be used for encouragement, sympathy and support for anyone going through a rough time, needing encouragement, or for any cause you’d like to use it for! As I mention in my video linked below, you can stamp the ribbon in ANY color to support dozens of different causes or diseases.
I love this Flowering Desert card that I received from Sandie Barnes!! She gave it to me at the San Antonio Stampin’ UP! OnStage event in April, and I think it is just gorgeous!!!!
Sandie sponged a beautiful blend of colors in the background and stamped images from the Flowering Desert set on top of the sponged background. She also stamped the lightest cactus image on another piece of cardstock, cut it out and added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The dimension is just amazing on this card!
The background of this card is AMAAAZING… it’s embossed with the Subtle embossing folder, but she inked the folder (with Crumb Cake or Soft Suede? ink) prior to embossing the cardstock.. so.. not only does it have the subtle embossing but also it’s enhanced with the ink!! It’s just amazing!! And if that wasn’t enough beautifulness, she also die cut the background with the rectangle stitched dies for ANOTHER added layer of dimension!!
There are so many amazing products on the Stampin’ Up! Retiring Lists.. below are 5 of my Must Have Retiring Products!! Click the link under each photo for all of the info on these handmade card and paper crafting projects.

I’m sure you have seen the retiring Stampin’ Up! list (info here). You may or may not have noticed that my Ribbon of Courage stamp set is retiring!
I was so honored to be the design inspiration for this set when I reached $1 million in personal sales with Stampin’ Up! in 2015. But, sadly, Ribbon of Courage and several other $1 million achiever sets are on the retiring list this year.
Here are a few of my favorite Ribbon of Courage samples and my video from a couple years ago explaining that this set was designed in honor of my mom. 🙂
