Did you see the quick video I posted a few days ago with this great tip for organizing your embossing powder with Dollar Store storage containers!?
I found these GREAT dual compartment storage containers at the Dollar Tree near my home, and I also found these GREAT little plastic spoons that fit perfectly with my embossing powder!!! You seriously should have seen me and my friend Tammy as we were contemplating the perfect container for our embossing powder. When we found these mini spoons (24 for $1!!!!) we knew this was the perfect solution.
Above is a close up of the label from the container in case you want to try to look for the same one! 3 for $1… can’t beat that!!!!
I used my Brother P-Touch labeler to create the labels.
I decided to put 3 Stampin’ Up! containers of each embossing powder into my new plastic storage containers and that is perfect!!

I hope you enjoy this masculine card idea featuring the Stampin’ UP! Garage Gears thinlit dies and the Classic Garage suite! Find the entire suite of products HERE in my online Stampin’ UP! store! Cindee taught me how to make this card and showed me embossing tips for the gears to make them look almost like real metal gears!
Be sure to pin the image below to your tips board on Pinterest so that you can find the instructions again!
We die cut the Garage Gears thinlit die in the Big Shot with Crumb Cake cardstock, sponged several colors on it (I used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Tranquil Tide), then we dipped it onto the Versamark pad, sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. While still warm, I sprinkled some Silver embossing powder sparingly onto the warm clear embossing powder and reheated it. It gave it a fun metallic look!
Don’t you think it looks cool! So glad Cindee taught me this technique!
The card base is Tranquil Tide cardstock and the nuts are from the Classic Garage 6×6 paper stack shown below.
Classic Garage 6×6 designer paper stack sold HERE.
We also used the fun Classic Garage Metal Elements #148485 (keys and wrenches) on the card as well as the coordinating 1/4″ black/silver striped ribbon #148486. If you purchase the Geared UP Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies together in a bundle you’ll SAVE 10%!! order #150610 as your bundle item for the savings!
Wow.. I stamped this a long time ago and never got around to sharing it! I love the soft feel of this card! Cindee and I created it together, and we used a card somewhere on the internet for inspiration, but as usual, we veered off course and made it our own. Or it might have been a catalog sample.. now I don't remember!!
The pretty, feminine floral Birthday Bouquet paper is found on page 9 of the Occasions catalog. We put a 2" strip of it at the bottom of the card, then layered the tag on top of a stamped rose image. We used the rose from the Rose Wonder stamp set on pg 18 of the 2016 Stampin UP! Occasions catalog, and just stamped it in Whisper White craft ink and let it dry on the Blushing Bride cardstock card.
We were doing our best to use layers.. lots of different layers.. so our tag has 4 layers plus the flower embellishment!
Noteworthy Card Design Features:
Corrugated paper was used for the tag
Ornate Tag Topper punch gives the corrugated tag a fancy feel
Banner Framelits created the 2 smaller banners, but you could also use the Banner Triple Punch, and the Banner punch was used for the smallest banner layer (see all products at the bottom of this post)
the Happy Birthday Greeting was gold heat embossed for a touch of class
we splattered the Gold Wink of Stella Pen onto the finished card – gold splatters are a great finishing touch!
the hand cut flower with Enamel Dot center gives one more layer of texture to the card
Today is a special day… Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all of my "mom friends"! I also realized it's 5-10-15 which is just a SUPER cool date!! I was guessing there might me lots of weddings going on today because of the cool date, So.. why not share a wedding card I recently made!?
As I mentioned in this previous blog post, our niece Amy just got married… and of course I had to create a handmade wedding card for her… I used the beautiful "For the New Two" stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and Calypso Coral ink and embossing powder to make it really special!
I wish we could have handed this to Josh and Amy in person, but, unfortunately, the 3 of us ended up SO sick that Easter Weekend and had to miss the wedding, but we wish them all the best and send all our love!
This is Amy and Josh with my father-in-law (her grandpa) who married them. My father-in-law is a Lutheran minister and has married all of his kids and grandkids.. what a neat honor!
