You may have already seen this Monarch Butterfly card in my Facebook Live video earlier in the week, and I am really excited to share it with you on my blog! This handstamped card features the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala bundle, Graceful Glass Vellum colored with Stampin’ Blends markers, and a Spectrum rainbow pad that I inked with reds, yellows and oranges to stamp the butterflies and birthday greeting!
After I started stamping all of the rainbow Spectrum pad butterflies, I had it in mind to make a Monarch butterfly and I think I succeeded with this red/orange/yellow Spectrum rainbow pad! I made this card for someone very special celebrating a very special birthday on Monday! We are celebrating with lunch and shopping on Tuesday, and I’ll give it to her then. Yep, it’s for Cindee. 🙂
Find the Butterfly Gala bundle currently on page 35 in your 2019 Occasions catalog, or HERE online #150599
Save 10% when you order the Stamp set and Punch together in the bundle!
The greeting (from the Humming Along stamp set #148758) is stamped with the same Spectrum pad as the butterflies, and stamped onto a die cut from my Rose Trellis thinlit dies #148549, pg 9 of the Occasions catalog.
As I mentioned in the video, I colored on the back of the strip of Graceful Glass vellum with my Stampin’ Blends markers, then added a strip of Whisper White cardstock behind the vellum so that the leaf pattern from the Floral Romance designer paper pack wouldn’t show through. The card is a 4-1/4″ x 11″ folded Thick Whisper White cardstock base.
I have been stamping and coloring these fun Piece of Cake images with my Stampin’ Blends markers and creating such fun cards with them! The Stampin’ UP! Note Cards are the perfect size for these little cake images! Find the Piece of Cake Bundle #150579 (stamp set & punch) on page 18 in your Occasions catalog, or HERE in my online store.
The cake and cake stand were stamped with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I punched them out with the Cake Builder punch and layered them onto Stitched Shape Oval Die cuts. The fun flourish image at the top of the cake above is from the Amazing Life stamp set. I thought it was such a fun “cake topper” 🙂 Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots finish off the card.
I decided to create with an unexpected color combo for birthday cakes, but I think they turned out really cool!
Here is my Stampin’ Up! Color Combo for these Piece of Cake cards:
The Stitched Oval die cuts are layered onto Bermuda Bay and Call Me Clover Scalloped Oval die cuts, then layered onto Stampin’ UP! thick Note Cards. I also used some Coastal Cabana designer paper from the “Brights” Designer Series Paper Stack #146964, and Bermuda Bay striped ribbon to enhance the fun, bright, color theme.
I stamped the Happy Birthday Greeting with my Blue/Green Spectrum Rainbow pad and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. Click HERE to read more about that rainbow pad!
Night of Navy Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots finish off this cute Birthday card!
The How Sweet it Is suite of Stampin’ Up! products in the 2019 Occasions catalog is so cute and so much fun to work with! The bright colors are perfect for birthday celebrations, like this handmade Z Fold card I created! I have also used the new Rectangle Stitched framelits #148551 to create great layers on this card!
I stamped the front and inside with greetings from the Birthday Wishes stamp set, pg 17 in the Occasions catalog, #148604 in Melon Mambo ink. The colorful gummy bears on the How Sweet It Is printed designer paper set the color scheme for this fun birthday card idea. The adorable candy jar on the front is die cut right from the How Sweet It Is designer paper and the matching Jar of Sweets framelits! SAVE 10% when you buy the bundle here: #150568
4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″. Add layers with Rectangle Stitched framelit dies #148551.
This Z Fold Card folds totally flat but pops up to reveal the inside when the recipient takes it out of the envelope!
I am so excited to share this fun Christmas card idea with you!!! I saw the idea on Pinterest to use the Bokeh dots background stamp with the Rainbow pad, and the tree die cut from the "In The Woods" framelit die set (#147919, pg 27 Holiday catalog). The card idea inspired by demonstrator Katie Drew! I added a beautiful layer of White Shimmer Paint to the tree die cuts, and the "Merry" die cut from the "Merry Christmas Thinlit dies" (#147912, pg 5 Holiday catalog) using the new Joyous Noel Glimmer paper (#147817, pg 29 Holiday catalog).
If you have not yet inked a spectrum rainbow pad with Stampin' UP! ink refills, you can watch the video below!
The Bokeh Dots background stamp was inked with the rainbow pad shown above, stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, then used as the background for the die cut trees.
New Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog supplies used on this project:
Merry Christmas Thinlit dies #147912, pg 5, Holiday catalog
Noel Glimmer paper #147817, pg 29 Holiday catalog
Merry Christmas to All stamp set #147702 (available as a bundle with the dies) (pg 5)
White Shimmer paint #147044, pg 38 Holiday catalog
In The Woods framelit die set #147919, pg 27 Holiday catalog
Tip #1 & #2:
Sponge White Shimmer paint with a sponge dauber onto the Whisper White Die Cut trees
To adhere both layers together, put small dots of glue on the top tree, allowing the little "flaps" to still lift up.
Put the Stampin' UP! Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet onto the back of the Glimmer paper first, then die cut the word Merry. This will give you a "sticker" to put onto your project and you don't have to mess with glue! 🙂
Don't forget to purchase your supplies for this project in my online store!
The products from the 2018 Holiday catalog will be available starting Sept. 5, 2018.
After I added the "merry" die cut, I stamped "& bright" from the Merry Christmas to All set in Shaded Spruce ink. You can purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle.. see page 5 of the 2018 Holiday catalog!! Available starting Sept. 5, 2018.
Thanks for joining me today! Hope you enjoy this festive Christmas / Holiday card idea!
I always have a monthly challenge / Prize Patrol for my Luv 2 Stamp group (team of demonstrators), and for the month of July, I challenged them to use a Stampin' UP! Spectrum / Rainbow pad .. ink it up with 5 different ink refills and create at least 4 projects. Once they shared with the group, they received a prize, and were put in a drawing for shopping sprees!
Today I am excited to share just a few of their amazing submissions. They shared over 50 ideas and that would be a SUPER long blog post, so I am just sharing about a dozen here with you today! I'll share more samples and a video soon!
HI friends!! On our recent Stampin' Up! cruise to Alaska, we got to celebrate a very special birthday ALL WEEK LONG!! My hubby, Eric, turned 60 and we took advantage of each special opportunity, adventure and restaurant as a way to celebrate his milestone!! I'll be sharing more of his birthday cards over the coming week or so, and today I wanted to share one I made for him featuring the "One for All" and "Around the Corner" stamp sets from Stampin' UP!
I had fun inking up a Spectrum rainbow pad from Stampin' UP! with blue and green reinkers (ink refills) and then using it with the lovely bold Happy Birthday stamp from the One for All set as the focal point. I also used it around the edge of the card with the Around the Corner set to pull in all these fun colors!
The colors I used on my rainbow pad:
Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Blueberry Bushel.
Before inking the uninked Spectrum pad, I like to take my Stampin' Write markers and color a swatch of them to make sure I like the combo (as shown above).
I stamped this bold image onto Glossy paper to ensure really bold bright color and coverage, then added it to the card.
You'll find the One for All stamp set in the current 2018-2018 Stampin' UP! catalog on page 37, and the Around the Corner set on page 40. You'll find all the supplies to create your own card at the bottom of this blog post. Click any of the product photos to purchase that papercrafting product in my online Stampin' Up! store.
The 60 was cut out of the Broadway Bound Designer paper pack.
We thought it was appropriate to celebrate Eric's 60th "Milestone" birthday at Milestone's restaurant in Victoria, B.C. on our Alaska cruise last week! 🙂
