Pretty Peacock Pocket Card Idea

Pretty Peacock is a gorgeous new 2019-2021 Stampin’ Up! In Color and I used it for this fun Pocket Card Idea!!

I embossed some Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Subtle embossing folder, then die cut it with the Pocket die.  I saw THIS IDEA on Shelli’s blog for a pocket card with a flap and thought, how fun is that!?  So I grabbed my Stitched Nested Label die and created a “stitched” pocket flap with some of the same embossed Pretty Peacock cardstock! (there is a straight stitched piece in the set that I used for the stitching at the top of the flap).

I know.. You are probably thinking.. wow.. that’s a super cool idea.. but WHY did you use “Love You” as the sentiment on this card (or of course you might not have even noticed)… well, this was my Happy Anniversary card for my hubby!  We recently celebrated 33 years!!

Eric and Patty Bennett, 33rd wedding anniversary, June 2019

And here is a funny story about that card.  After my hubby opened the card at the restaurant, he set it up at the end of the table. When the waiter came by to check on us, Eric told the waiter, “my wife made me that card!”.  The waiter actually took some interest in it.. looked it over, and then proclaimed, “Wow, that’s really nice! You could probably do this professionally!”  🙂  I smiled and said, “I do!”  🙂

Did you notice the fun “rivets” on the pocket flap?  Those are the new Designer Elements accessories from page 178 in the annual Stampin’ UP! catalog, or #149586 online.  If you placed an order in my online store at the end of June, you should have received a sampler pack of these elements from me in your Thank You card!

Finishing Design Touches:

  • Love You (from the Enjoy Life stamp set) is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on a small Stitched Nested Label die
  • the Crumb Cake die cut leafy things (sprigs?) are found in the Wild Rose die set
  • I frayed the ends of the 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim to add a little rusticness to the card
  • I sponged the edges of the pocket with a Sponge Dauber and Pretty Peacock ink, then drew little stitched lines with my Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write marker
  • Pretty Peacock plaid paper in the background is from the 2019-2021 In Color 6×6 DSP pack (4″ x 5-1/4″)
  • Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored / folded in 1/2

Detailed Noble Peacock Card Idea

I was speechless when I received this AMAZING Detailed Noble Peacock card in the mail!!  One of the amazing Stampin’ Up! demonstrators on my team made it and mailed it to me. Nicole Tugrul is the amazing artist who created this card!

Detailed Peacock dies from Stampin' UP! on a beautiful background, stenciled from a Bird Ballad laser cut card, by Nicole. www.PattyStamps.com

Nicole used a Bird Ballad Laser Cut card as a stencil to sponge color onto a Whisper White cardstock panel.  I thought it made the most GORGEOUS background!!!  Find the Detailed Peacock dies on page 25 and pg 192, or #149582 online.  Find the Bird Ballad laser cut cards on page 168 or #149595 online.

Detailed Peacock dies from Stampin' UP! on a beautiful background, stenciled from a Bird Ballad laser cut card, by Nicole. www.PattyStamps.com

Nicole’s Directions:

“The background of the card is sponged with Coastal Cabana. I cut one of the cards from the Bird Ballad Cards and Tin so I could use it as a stencil. The pink paper behind the peacock is from Bird Ballad DSP cut with a Stitched Nested label die. I cut 2 peacocks out, one in whisper white and one in a thick watercolor paper to glue to the back. This gave the peacock more stability. I sponged the peacock with Coastal Cabana being lighter at the top and a little darker in the center. The bottom was sponged with Pretty Peacock ink. Behind the nested label die is a Coastal Cabana feather from the peacock dies. I added small bits of dimensionals to add the peacock to the card stock. Then I did several flowers from Free as a Bird. Cut them out and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers. Flirty Flamingo light marker with a bit of light Lovely Lipstick in the center of the flowers. I used a stylus to push and roll around the center to give the flower a little dimension. Place the flowers on a Stampin pierce mat when you do that because it gives a little and lets you roll the flowers. I added a bit of tombow glue to the bottoms of the flowers and added them to the card. I brushed the peacock and flowers with clear Wink of Stella. Lastly, I added a few of the Woven Threads sequins with a bit of tombow glue.”

Thank you again, Nicole, for blessing me with this stunning peacock card!!! I love it!

See a Silhouette background paper cards

When I saw all of the gorgeous patterns in the See a Silhouette Stampin’ Up! designer paper pack, I was so eager to create a card with this new background paper!!  I combined it with the Friendly Silhouettes dies, cut out of Black Foil Paper!  Super Simple, yet striking!!  I actually made 3 different cards!!

Stampin' Up! Friendly Silhouettes dies cut with Black Foil paper, with See a Silhouette designer paper background. card by Patty Bennett, www.PattyStamps.com

You will find the See a Silhouette paper on pages 134 and 166 of your Annual catalog, or HERE #149443 online.  The Friendly Silhouettes dies are on pages 124 and 193, or #149546 in my Stampin’ Up! online store.  I really thought they looked amazing die cut with the Black Foil Paper!

Stamparatus:

Use the Stamparatus for the Stampin' Up! Friendly Silhouettes dies cut with Black Foil paper, with See a Silhouette designer paper background. card by Patty Bennett, www.PattyStamps.com

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the swinging girl image from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set.  Since it is a bold image (solid image stamp) it’s best to use the Stamparatus in case you need to stamp the image twice to get it as bold as you wish.  Find this set on page 134 or #149223 online.  Find the Stamparatus on page 184 or #146276 online. See my Stamparatus Tip Video here!  The sentiment is from the “A Little Lace” stamp set #149364.

Above: I kept this card super simple with a celebrate you sentiment found in the Bloom and Grow stamp set.  It’s simply stamped right on the background paper with the Black Foil die cut flowers applied on top.  The Fine Tip Glue Pen is one of your best bets for adhering the intricate dies to the project.  I matted all cards onto a Basic Black cardstock mat.  The cards above are on Mango Melody card bases.

Below: I added blue rhinestones from the Noble Peacock rhinestone pack to the card below and a birthday greeting from the Parcels & Petals stamp set on a die cut shape from the Smooth Sailing die set.  It is matted on a Pear Pizzazz card base.

Red, White and Blue Daisies

As we celebrate the 4th of July in the USA, I thought these red, white and blue daisies would be a fun idea to share with you!!! I used the new Medium Daisy Punch #149517, some beautiful Blueberry Bushel Noble Peacock Foil and some Real Red patterned paper.

If you participated in my Paper Share, you have a sample of this gorgeous Blueberry Bushel Noble Peacock Specialty Designer paper  #149493. I added a layer to my Thick Whisper White folded card base.

I decided to “bling up” my daisy cards with some Clear Faceted Gems #144142 and Noble Peacock Rhinestones #149494.

The sentiments are stamped on die cut Whisper White Stitched Nested Label dies with Real Red ink.  They are from the Daisy Lane bundle and the Beautiful Friendship set.

After I made these Red, White and Blue daisy cards, I decided to add some bright Granny Apple Green leaves. I love the pop of color!!!

Tips!

To create the Granny Apple Green leaves, I stamped the leaf image from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock, then used the Leaf Punch to punch them out!

I used the Medium Daisy Punch –  part of a money-saving 10% off bundle with the Daisy Lane stamp set – stamped in Real Red ink onto the Real Red designer paper from the Brights 6×6 Designer Paper Stack, #149613.

When curling the petals with my Bone Folder on the red designer paper flowers, I accidentally ripped a couple petals (easily glued back on though), so my tip is that if you are stamping the daisy onto white cardstock, use the Thick Whisper White cardstock so that when you curl the petals, they don’t rip.  🙂

My final fun design tip for you is to try out the lovely scalloped edge die from the Magnolia Memory die set, find it on page 194, or #149578  in my online store!! So pretty!  OH and a BONUS.. the little white flower centers are from the Magnolia Memory die set, too!

Magnolia Lane Fun Fold Card Video

Good Morning Magnolia Simple Fold Card idea featuring Stampin' UP! Magnolia Lane paper, and floral image colored with Stampin' Blends markers, www.PattyStamps.com

This is an easy fun fold idea!  The base Thick Whisper White card is just a single layer, with the Magnolia Lane designer paper on top, then the Petal Pink folded piece is on top of that.  I stamped the Magnolia flower and colored it with Stampin’ Blends, then decided to add Wink of Stella to the flower, and add colored rhinestones for some bling!  I colored the Rhinestones with the Dark Calypso Coral marker.  I tried the Petal Pink marker but it’s not dark enough on the rhinestones.

Alternate Magnolia Lane Card Idea:

If you don’t want to stamp and color, you can always cut the flower images out of the Magnolia Lane Designer Paper!!  I cut 2 images and layered them together for the “Stepped Up” card idea below!

On this stepped up fun fold card version, I also added the Petal Pink ribbon.  So soft and pretty!
