Pink Scalloped Note Card with Magnolia

You might have noticed that I’m a big fan of the Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Note Cards with matching envelopes.  Today I used a Pink Scalloped Note Card with the Good Morning Magnolia bundle.

You’ll find these sweet note cards on page 168, or #149610 here online.  To accentuate the scallop, I cut a small strip of floral Petal Pink patterned paper from the Bird Ballad designer paper pack and placed it inside the card.  This really helps to show off the sweet scallops!

My Scalloped Note card is finished off with some Petal Pink Organdy ribbon #149441, and Linen Thread #104199.

To decorate my scalloped note card, I stamped the small magnolia image in Memento Black ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock and colored it in super simply with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and Old Olive for the leaves.  I picked up the blue in the flowers of the Bird Ballad paper with a Stitched Nested Die Cut from the Seaside Spray script design in the 6×6 2019-2021 In Color Paper Stack and stamped right on it with the Thinking of You sentiment.

Perennial Essence Note Cards

On my morning walk the other day, I decided I was going to take an hour during the day and JUST STAMP, and use some supplies I had not used yet.  I pulled out my Perennial Essence designer paper, the Detailed Bands dies, Purple Posy cardstock, and my thick Whisper White Note Cards.  These note cards turned out so pretty and soft!!

To make these cards, follow the graphic below and cut off 1-1/8″ from the right front of the thick Whisper White Note card, then cut a piece of Perennial Essence designer paper at 2-2/8″ x 5″ and apply it to the note card front.   Die cut the Detailed Bands piece from Purple Posy cardstock, and the label piece from Whisper White.  Layer them together as shown below in this blog post.

When you follow my tip above and cut off 1-1/8″ from the right front side of the note card, the Detailed Bands die will fit perfectly on the card front and into the envelope.  Line up the bottom edge as shown and adhere it to the front as shown in #2 below!

Cut 1-1/8" off your Thick Whisper White Note Card from Stampin' UP! cover the front with Perennial Essence floral paper, then add the Detailed Bands die cut. www.PattyStamps.com

I stamped the greeting from the Rare Blessings set onto one of the die cuts from the Detailed Bands die set.

The Detailed Bands dies are #149549 online, and found on pages 192 and 121 in the Annual Stampin’ Up! catalog.

I really didn’t know what color I wanted to stamp my greeting… so…. I used 4 different colors!!  Rich Razzleberry, Rococo Rose, Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock!! I think they all look wonderful, but the Rich Razzleberry turned out to be my fave.

After fussy cutting the flowers from the Perennial Essence paper, I wasn’t sure what leaves I wanted to use.  I had not used the Rare Blessings set yet, so I thought why not stamp those leaves in Memento ink, and color them with Stampin’ Blends markers to add to my cards?  What do you think? I love how they turned out!

2 final touches include:  Adding Wink of Stella to the fussy cut flowers, and then adding the Noble Peacock rhinestones to each card!

Wild Rose Pigment Sprinkles Card Ideas

Thank you for your kind comments about my Pigment Sprinkles video tutorial yesterday!!  Today we are using Pigment Sprinkles on the Wild Rose stamp set and dies to make this pretty card!

Floral Card created with Stampin' UP! Pigment Sprinkles featuring the To a Wild Rose stamp set and dies. By Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

I was inspired to create this card with the Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody Pigment Sprinkles after making the Gorgeous Grape card shown in my video! If you missed it, Watch the Pigment Sprinkles Video HERE.

As mentioned in my video, my preference is to get the watercolor paper wet first, then sprinkle on the Pigment Sprinkles – see below…

After the Pigment Sprinkles on the wet watercolor paper are completely dry, you can stamp on it, die cut it or punch out shapes.

Paper Flowers created with Stampin' UP! Pigment Sprinkles featuring the To a Wild Rose stamp set and dies. By Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

One of my favorite stamp sets is the “To a Wild Rose” stamp set, so I have used the flower and leaf stamp from that set to stamp on my dry Pigment Sprinkles watercolor backgrounds.  Once dry, I used the matching Wild Rose dies to die cut them out.  This set and dies come in a bundle, so you can save 10% if you buy the Wild Rose bundle #151073.

Similar to the Daisy Punch card I shared with you yesterday, I used a Thick Whisper White Top Fold base card, and stamped the Birch Background stamp in Soft Suede onto the White background.  I used a piece of Mango Melody script background paper from the 6×6 Brights paper stack and then tied a piece of Granny Apple Green ribbon around the card before adding my die cut flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The “Hi Friend” greeting is found in the Above the Clouds stamp set and is stamped onto a Whisper White die cut from the Smooth Sailing dies.

How to Make Flowers with Pigment Sprinkles – Video Tutorial

I LOVE color.. that is such a huge reason that I craft!  The new Stampin’ UP! Pigment Sprinkles produce AMAZINGLY beautiful, vibrant color when you use them with Watercolor Paper and a spritz of water!  Today I have a Video Tutorial for you showing you how to make these colorful flowers with the Medium Daisy Punch and Pigment Sprinkles.

Floral Card created with Stampin' UP! Pigment Sprinkles featuring the medium Daisy Punch and the Birch Background stamp. By Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

As you will see in my video below, there are lots of options when it comes to using your Pigment Sprinkles with watercolor paper.  My preference is to wet the paper first, then sprinkle on the Pigment Sprinkles… not only because it looks totally magical like fireworks, but also because it’s a little less messy this way.

Pigment Sprinkles are found on page 179, #149663, Watercolor Paper is found on page 169, #149612.

How to Use Pigment Sprinkles for a background:

  • Be sure to Watch the Video at the bottom of this post for more details
  • I prefer to wet my watercolor paper first with a Stampin’ Spritzer, then sprinkle the Pigment Sprinkles on the wet paper – less mess this way
  • If you prefer, you can sprinkle the Pigment Sprinkles first, then spritz the watercolor paper, but that tends to cause a dusting of the pigment sprinkles to “spray” around your work area
  • You can add more sprinkles at any time – but a little goes a long way
  • I like to flick some Wink of Stella onto the wet (or dry) watercolor paper to add sparkles
  • If you want to stamp first, use StazOn ink.  If you want to stamp when the watercolor paper is dry, you can use any ink
  • When completely dry, punch or die cut shapes
  • There are LOTS of other ways to use Pigment Sprinkles – this background technique is just one way to use them

After creating this beautiful Pigment Sprinkles background piece of watercolor paper with the Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo sprinkles, I flicked a bunch of Wink of Stella on it and then after it was dry, I punched as many Medium Daisy Punch images as I could.  I layered them together and used them on my card!

The leaves are stamped with the To a Wild Rose stamp set  and die cut with the dies (bundle #151073) and are colored with the Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight sprinkles, then when completely dry, I die cut them with the Wild Rose dies.

Each flower center features one of the new Perennial Essence Floral Centers, page 176, #149442

My base card is a Thick Whisper White top fold card, stamped with the Birch Background stamp in Soft Suede ink.  I layered a piece of Daffodil Delight Gingham from the Brights 6×6 stack #149613, tied it up with Crushed Curry Seam Binding Ribbon #149444, and stamped the greeting from the Friend Like You set, #149237 stamped onto a Tags & More tag, #149652.

Bird Ballad Laser Cut Card with Stampin’ Blends

Have you discovered the amazingness of the Bird Ballad Laser cut cards?  They are stunning and so easy to use! I combined a stamped and colored image from the Free as a Bird stamp set with some Bird Ballad designer paper for this pretty card!

Hot Tip!

Punch out a circle of cardstock and adhere it to the inside of the laser cut card with Snail Adhesive, then add your focal point – in this case a die cut from the Wild Rose dies – to the front, then your adhesive is sandwiched between the 2 layers!  If you layer a colored piece of cardstock inside the folded card, the recipient will be able to enjoy the beauty of the laser-cut details when opening the card!

I stamped the birds on a branch image from the Free as a Bird set onto the stitched die cut from the Wild Rose dies, using Memento Black ink, then colored them with the Stampin’ Blends markers shown in the tip sheet download above, and also in the product photos at the bottom of this post.  I also fussy cut some flower images from the Bird Ballad designer paper to add to the card front.  Then I gave it a little bling with the Noble Peacock Rhinestones in the flower centers.

The flowers are stamped in Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot ink on Whisper White cardstock, using the flower from the “For the Love of Felt” set.  Stamp several flowers, and cut the center out of some of them, then layer the 2 pieces together for added depth and dimension.
