I am excited to share more photos of our recent Stampin' Up! Adventure! We enjoyed a 7 day Alaska Cruise with Stampin' UP! and spent a few extra days in Seattle to explore the city and meet the penguins in person at the Woodland Park Zoo!!
I thought you might enjoy some of our hundreds of photos, condensed into a few collages, plus a quick 2 minute video about our visit with the penguins!
We stayed at the Seattle Sheraton, and it was amazing. A lovely property within walking distance to the waterfront, to the monorail that takes you to the Space Needle, and great views of the city!
We splurged on a suite and enjoyed the corner views, extra space, 2 bathrooms, and access to the lounge on the 32nd floor for free breakfast and evening snacks! 🙂 (or as Eric said,, it's not free… it's just "included") 🙂
Upon checking into our gorgeous suite, they delivered this tray and a special fruit and chocolate dessert for Eric, to start the 60th birthday celebration!!! We celebrated Eric's birthday for about 2 weeks, since this really was a special milestone!!
On our last day in Seattle, my brother and his wife joined us, and also went on the cruise with us!! What a treat it was to vacation with them after about 30 years since our last vacation together!!!!
On our first day in Seattle, the weather was amazing, so we headed straight off to the Space Needle to take advantage of the blue skies for photos! The last time we were there we ate at the revolving restaurant at the top of the Space Needle, but it's currently closed, undergoing major renovations, so we were only able to take photos from the observation deck.
Adjacent to the Space Needle is the Chihuly Gardens and Glass exhibit… OH MY GOODNESS.. there are no words to describe this… if you have not seen a Chihuly exhibit, I highly recommend it! There are Chihuly glass collections all over the world. It was AMAZING!
Another stop on our "let's play tourist" adventure in Seattle was the Great Wheel. It's a gigantic 175 foot tall Ferris wheel that goes out over the water and affords amazing views of the waterfront and the city!! WELL worth it.. so much fun!!
THEN… the highlight of the trip … a visit to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle to take a behind the scenes adventure tour of the penguin habitat!! OH MY GOSH>>> so much fun!! Jason actually found this online and we set up this amazing tour months in advance. I know some people dream of swimming with dolphins or stingrays, or some other type of amazing adventure, but for me (diehard penguin lover) this was just the tops!! We learned so much about them, fed them, petted them, and created life-long memories with this visit!

Below are a few miscellaneous photos of our other adventures in Seattle at the Public Market, walking around Seattle, and dinner at The Edgewater with Peter & Tami.
Our last Seattle adventure included a quick elevator ride up to the 76th floor of the Columbia Center (tallest building in Seattle) for photos from all 360 degrees around the top of the building.. again, amazing!!
We also stopped at the Starbucks Reserve headquarters… WOW.. what a huge place.. fun to see and hear all about the operations there.
Hope you enjoyed our Seattle tour. I'll have more photos another day of our adventures from the Explorer of the Seas Cruise Ship and the Stampin' UP! cruise!
As I've mentioned over the past week, we had fun celebrating Eric's 60th birthday on the recent Stampin' UP! Cruise to Alaska. We celebrated every moment we could, and I asked a few people if they might have time to bring Eric a card. I asked Sean Douglass if he'd like to use his mad artistic skills to create a card for Eric and to my delight he said yes!! :) I shared with Sean, that at work, Eric is called "the Artifact" because he is the "keeper of all the knowledge" (as the senior employee in his department). So, Sean hand lettered this AMAZING card for Eric!
I grabbed a quick picture of Eric and Sean … thank you again Sean for creating such a great birthday keepsake for Eric's memorable 60th birthday!!
Thank you Sean and Sara for this amazing keepsake!! Sean, your handlettering skills are AMAZING!!
Thanks for joining me today.. I hope you enjoyed this amazing handlettered card idea!!
HI friends!! On our recent Stampin' Up! cruise to Alaska, we got to celebrate a very special birthday ALL WEEK LONG!! My hubby, Eric, turned 60 and we took advantage of each special opportunity, adventure and restaurant as a way to celebrate his milestone!! I'll be sharing more of his birthday cards over the coming week or so, and today I wanted to share one I made for him featuring the "One for All" and "Around the Corner" stamp sets from Stampin' UP!
I had fun inking up a Spectrum rainbow pad from Stampin' UP! with blue and green reinkers (ink refills) and then using it with the lovely bold Happy Birthday stamp from the One for All set as the focal point. I also used it around the edge of the card with the Around the Corner set to pull in all these fun colors!
The colors I used on my rainbow pad:
Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Blueberry Bushel.
Before inking the uninked Spectrum pad, I like to take my Stampin' Write markers and color a swatch of them to make sure I like the combo (as shown above).
I stamped this bold image onto Glossy paper to ensure really bold bright color and coverage, then added it to the card.
You'll find the One for All stamp set in the current 2018-2018 Stampin' UP! catalog on page 37, and the Around the Corner set on page 40. You'll find all the supplies to create your own card at the bottom of this blog post. Click any of the product photos to purchase that papercrafting product in my online Stampin' Up! store.
The 60 was cut out of the Broadway Bound Designer paper pack.
We thought it was appropriate to celebrate Eric's 60th "Milestone" birthday at Milestone's restaurant in Victoria, B.C. on our Alaska cruise last week! 🙂

I hope you have had fun following me on our Alaskan Cruise Adventure this week! I've been posting from Seattle and the Cruise ship whenever I can!! You can see those posts HERE.
While we are on the ship, one of the Stampin' UP! activities is a card swap. I wanted to share the card I made, and I hope you like it! It features the Healing Hugs stamp set and several other fun Stampin' UP! products!
I really love the new Delicate Lace edgelits from Stampin' UP!.. that's what I used for the lovely white lacy detail on these cards. You can read more about them HERE.
Other products I incorporated into my Cruise Swap Cards are:
Petal Promenade designer paper (2" x 4" piece)
Thanks for all you do image from the Friendly Expressions set stamped in Grapefruit Grove on a die cut Stitched Shape oval
Calypso Coral ombre ribbon
ALL of these Stampin' Up! products are available in my online store by clicking any of the product photos at the bottom of this post.
When I made multiples of a card (which is almost always), I die cut, score, stamp, and fussy cut everything I need first, then assemble.
If you'd like more info about how I colored the roses and leaves from the Healing Hugs stamp set, Watch This Video!
