These special 4×4 Birthday Cards featuring the Stampin’ UP! How Sweet It Is designer paper and the Jar of Sweets framelit dies, also have a fun surprise.. the card base is actually the Lovely Lipstick Sale-a-Bration foil sheets!! You can get 4 cards out of any 12×12 sheet!! Did you select this as your free gift? As I was typing this blog post (on the 15th) these foil sheets actually sold out!! oh my! But you can use ANY 12×12 cardstock or other foil sheets.
These cute cards featuring Stampin’ UP! Occasions catalog products are full of colorful surprises!! I die cut the adorable candy pieces from the Jar of Sweets framelits, and also used the same coordinating colors of Glitter Enamel Dots to dress up the cards. Each card is tied up with some Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped ribbon.
I layered a Gorgeous Grape or Melon Mambo scalloped circle with a How Sweet It Is designer paper die cut circle on each card, using the Layering Circle framelits. As always, you can shop in my online Stampin’ UP! Store for these papercrafting supplies anytime, earn free Sale-a-Bration gifts for each $50 you purchase AND record your $50 or more orders on your Free Stamps with Patty form!
Cutting Pattern for 4×4 Cards
You can cut any 12×12 sheet into 4″x8″ pieces to create 4 card bases. See my graphic below. . . simply cut a 4″ strip off the 12×12 (cut #1), then cut the remaining larger piece at 4″ (cut #2) and at 4″ again (cut #3). Cut a 4″ piece off of the first piece you cut (cut #4) and score/fold all 4 pieces in 1/2!
I always get asked if I use square envelopes. While you could make one with the Envelope Punch Board, or purchase a square envelope, they do cost more to mail in the US Mail, so I use the regular Medium Whisper White Envelopes from Stampin’ UP!.
Some of these cute cards also feature the Detailed Birthday cupcake edgelit dies – you can see more about those in THIS Sweet Cups post. Be sure to use your Adhesive Sheets with the detailed cupcake dies!
For embellishments, I used both the Glitter Enamel Dots, and I also colored some clear epoxy hearts with my Stampin’ Blends markers.
