Funny Story… I was helping my customer, Kim, with an issue with her online order, and I happened to ask her why she was ordering so many rolls of white and vanilla ribbon? She mentioned this great technique to me and then I understood why she is stocking up! She is CUSTOM COLORING the ribbon with her Stampin' Blends markers!!!! It's SOOOO pretty!
So of course I HAD to try it immediately!! I colored the 3/8" Gold Metallic edge vanilla ribbon with my Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker and OH MY GOSH.. how pretty!! The vanilla based ribbon will sightly alter the color since it's not like coloring on White, but I love how it turned out!
The card above/below features the Painted with Love designer paper (pg 19 Occasions catalog #145580), Gold Foil Paper #132622, and the Sale-a-Bration Celebrate Amazing You thinlits (a free gift choice with your $100 order through March 31, 2018 – see more about Sale-a-Bration here).
It's so easy, too! Just protect your work surface with scratch paper or a Stampin' UP! Grid Sheet, and color the ribbon with long broad strokes and your Stampin' Blends marker! It will bleed through to the other side, so no need to color both sides!
And then I couldn't stop.. I needed to try more colors.. Look how gorgeous the Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blends looks on the Metallic Edge Silver / White ribbon!!!!
Will you try this!? I hope so! You will LOVE the results!
I shared this one with you before but it's another option when you are trying this technique … this is the 1/4" Whisper White Organza ribbon (pg 23 Occasions catalog), #145590, colored with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker. (more details click here)
After Kim shared this idea with me, then she sent me the photo below… isn't this just STUNNING!? This is the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends on the Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon! OH MY GOSH I just love this card she created with the Painted with Love designer paper and the beautiful Gold Glitter Flakes (pg 19, #146816).
Thank you for joining me today, I hope you are inspired to color some ribbon to match your projects!!
