Until I can get a video on line, many have asked the following questions, so let me answer here:
The Texturz plates are roughly the same size as the Multi Purpose Platform, so that gives you a rough idea of the size.. they are nice and big!
You also need the 2 pads listed on pg 203, in addition to the Multi Purpose Platform (the Impressions Pad and the Silicone rubber pad) to make the "sandwich" to roll through the Big Shot.
To get a better impression (deeper embossed image) I used 2 or 3 sheets of cardstock UNDER my texturz plate like a shim, (those don't get embossed) and then made the "sandwich" per the instructions on the multi purpose platform. This gives a deeper embossed image. Without that extra thickness in your sandwich, the impression is actually quite faint. Of course, this gives you that option too!
I'm teaching all week at my son's school, so when I have time to come up for air I'll get some new videos on line for you!
I don’t yet have the texture plates, but I have been told that, if you spritz the paper with a mist of water before texturing, that the image comes out better. You might try and see how you like it.
Thanks for all the tips!
I am loving the texture plates! I just got my Big Shot for Christmas and I am having so much fun with it. I just used my scalloped envelope die on a cute Valentine mailbox I made for my sons class Valentines party.
I keep thinking of ideas and it is so fun – my creative juices are heating up.
I am so excited to order these texture plates and I thank you for all the tips and cute projects. I am LOVING them:)
This is beautiful. I just love that SU came out with these. I just love how texture add to a card.
Beautiful! I read to very lightly mist your paper with water (there is a lroduct called Paper Glide but I have not found it necessary) before embossing with these, and I have found that the image is just a bit crisper and deeper. Have you tried it? I wonder if those results are consistent.
Can’t wait to see the video Patty. Thanks for sharing what you have. I’m getting lots of questions so now I know where to point them.
Here’s another tip I found using alcohol to deepen the impression on Barb’s blog:
