Faux Tile Sunflower Card

Two handmade greeting cards feature large yellow sunflowers, green leaves, and butterflies over patterned green-and-white backgrounds. The sunflower embossing folder came back in stock AGAIN (I think it has sold out more times than any previous Stampin’ Up! embossing folder) and I wanted to share a different way to use the sunflowers. After embossing 1/4 sheets, I cut them apart and used single flowers on my cards today. Combining it with a bright, vibrant green leafy faux tile background seemed perfect!

I created the faux tile background for these sunflower cards using my Moody Leaves background stamp. I used Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Shaded Spruce ink on my stamp.

As mentioned in my Hot Foil video, you can buy the Butterfly Flight bundle which includes the masks. Use your blending brushes and ink with the masks to create endless color combos for your butterflies. Above I used: Lemon Lolly, Pool Party & Peaceful Pine.

3 Tips for the Sunflowers:

  1. below… use your scissors to cut the sunflower out of the embossed piece, and use it on a project!

2. Use the Golden Glow shimmer brush to add shimmer to the petals.

Reminder to use the “negative” / left over foil:
