Eric's iPad Birthday Celebration

Eb bday wish big Ah yes, the iPad Birthday celebration.... thanks to my wonderful bonus from Stampin' Up! last week I was able to buy my hubby an iPad for his bday ...  he had a BIG WISH and I was so happy I could make it come true by getting the iPad for him!

This was the card I made for him, inspired by the fabulously talented Mary Brown!

We had a nice casual day celebrating his birthday and capped it off with a nice dinner at Outback with friends... We didn't get a photo with all of us but we did get one with Mindy.  Mindy gave us all some great tutorials about how the iPad works and the amazing things it is capable of .. wow.. TECHNOLOGY is amazing ...

DSC04514 DSC04513

We enjoyed a little celebrating and he loved his iPad.. whoohooo!

Here is the inside of the card.... i actually printed the inside polkdot paper in MDS since I wanted it to be a lighter shade of Concord Crush... amazing how you can combine MDS and real live stamping..

Eb bday inside

Yes, those are rhinestones on the candle flames.. I LOVE those little self sticky rhinestones! (see pg 188).

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend... see ya!

Greenhouse Gala - LOTS of layers!

I kind of went a little crazy with all the layers in this card... just kept adding fun new stuff...

Greenhouse gala paper lace

I layered a punch with a die cut, 2 pieces of Greenhouse Gala DSP, a piece of embossed Very Vanilla, and some paper lace ... kind of a hodgepodge but I think it's fun.  Click for FREE Paper Lace Video Tutorial.

Colors I used in this card:

WELCOME to the JUNE 2010 Control Freaks Blog Tour !!!

You have probably joined me after visiting Jen's Blog, and you can click on the "next blog" link at the bottom of the post to continue on the tour  :)

This month we are featuring "a sneak peek" of products from the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog, to be released on July 1.  Please enjoy the samples and the tour !!

My first sample is a vintage style card made using the wonderful new Designer Paper called NEWSPRINT as a focal point on the tag.  I stamped it with the new set called Artistic Etchings, which I think is going to be my new fave set!  The new color I used is Cherry Cobbler.... OH MY GOSH>> YUMMMMY COLOR! :)  I also used the "love" quote from a new hostess set.

Artistic etchings tag card

I made my own "background" on the card above, to look like an page from an old book, using My Digital Studio... stay tuned next week for details on how to do that.

NEXT up...

My poor old handstamped checkbook cover was soooooooooo old I decided I needed an UPGRADE!

Checkbook cover

I used some new Greenhouse Gala DSP and the new stamp set "Friends Never Fade" plus some die cut and punched out flowers for my checkbook cover.  I added a strip of new Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta ribbon for an accent.

For Flower Accent:

  • Birds & Blooms die with Presto Patterns Paper, sponged with Tangerine Tango ink
  • Boho Blossoms punch with Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery cardstock, sponged with Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi ink on edges.
  • 1/8" Chocolate Chip brad for center

I think it turned out really pretty!

This was my old one - I have had it sooooooooooo long! ... anyone recognize this set ? :)  NO> It's NOT a Sneak Peek...

Old checkbook cover

Sure brings back memories, doesn't it!!???   I think it was called Sketch It.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and ENJOY THE BLOG TOUR!

New Color Labels and Organization

I have been trying to upload and link to the new color label files as a Word Doc for you .. something is not cooperating with typepad today.... however, thanks to Nancy Dawson, here is the doc converted to a .pdf file for you .. DOWNLOAD LABEL FILE HERE.  You an print this on an Avery 5167 label sheet (80 per page), or you could simply print this on a full label sheet and punch them out... SEE BELOW for punch information.

This is what I was working on all weekend... labeling my new cardstock, pads, etc.

Aren't the colors just YUMMY!! :)

Cardstock closeup

I used one label on my ink pad and one for my pack of cardstock.

Use the WORD WINDOW PUNCH to punch out the labels and add them to the ends of the ink pads!

In case you are curious.. I got the literature sorter (paper holder) from Costco about 12 years ago, and the ink pad holder about 11 years ago from a company no longer in business.
