Video tutorial for Stamping on Glossy Paper - Adirondak Chair Beach Card

I was super excited to see Glossy paper come back to the Stampin' Up! catalog this year! (missed it? it's on pg 194, #144240).  I started stamping on glossy paper about 30 years ago.. it was such a hot trend with bold stamps and Marvy Markers, it's come and gone over the years as a trend, and now it's fun to explore the many uses for it in my craft room once again!

Today I am sharing a video tutorial to show you how to create this beach scene card with glossy paper, Stampin' UP! ink pads, stamps and accessories!

The darling red beach chair is die cut from the Seasonal Layers framelits. This adirondak chair framelit die is so popular, and I can see why!!  I stamped the palms and grass using the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set, and the little red flowers are from the Hello Friend set.  All of these supplies as well as the glossy paper, ink pads, stamps and accessories are available in my online Stampin' Up! store.  Click any of the product links at the bottom of this blog post to go directly to my store online. Please leave a comment or email me if you have any questions.

As shown in the video, here is the Stampin' Up! Color combo I used for this project:

If you watched the video above, you'll see how easy this card really is.  Here is a visual reminder of the steps I demonstrated in the video:

As usual, I could not decide on just one greeting for this card, so I made several and used 3 different greetings.

Live Laugh Love and Enjoy the Little Things are both found in the Layering Love stamp set (pg 46 in the current catalog) and the Hello Friend stamp is found in the Hello Friend stamp set, pg 17.

Each greeting is stamped with Island Indigo ink to coordinate with the Island Indigo card bases.

Ah, I remember the glossy paper, marvy markers and bold stamp images. In fact, I believe I still have a stash of glossy paper. Fabulous and fun card Patty!

such a CUTE card, Patty! Thanks for the great video...like you I was very excited to see the high gloss white cardstock return to the SU catty. I was quite bummed when it was discontinued lo those many years ago even though I stocked up before that happened so I would never actually be without! Can't believe it's back even though I haven't started using it yet so will follow your lead and start using the awesome glossy again!

Your project reminded me of the great beaches and activities you probably enjoyed in Thailand recently! Hope you had an awesome and well deserved vacation!

Love the glossy paper and want to know how you got such wonderful coverage on the red chair. Is that also glossy paper?

Great card & great technique. I have a stash of glossy paper from my alcohol ink days. I seldom use it now that there is Yupo. Have you tried Yupo? I know SU doesn't sell it but it is so much better than glossy paper for alcohol inks. Maybe I'll use my gloss paper like you have used it. Thanks for the inspiration

Donna

Such a beautiful card, Patty, and easy technique! I love it; TFS!
