Penned and Painted Appreciation Cards

Last week Stampin' UP! demonstrators made an effort to shower our home office Demonstrator Support Staff in the Riverton, UT, call center with cards, goodies, candy, treats, flowers, cookies, balloons, popcorn, pizzas, you name it.. it was our week to show our appreciation for this hard-working, dedicated staff that is always there to help us fix any problems we might have!  My Luv 2 Stamp group demonstrators also participated along with demonstrators from all over the world!

When I call in, I am blessed to chat with one of 4 amazing ladies, Danyel, Carrie, Chris and Yessica.  I wanted them to know how much I appreciate them so I sent them each a card and a little box of goodies.  They are a blessing to me!!

I created these flower cards featuring the Penned & Painted stamp set from Stampin' Up! (page 143 in the 2016 annual catalog or HERE #141938 in my online store).  Hands down this is one of my top 5 stamp sets because it's so easy to use and it creates such a gorgeous watercolor look with virtually no watercolor experience needed!! :)

My inspiration for these cards came from Artisan stamper Connie Collins.  I used her great color combo of Real Red, Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight!

I stamped Just for You in Archival black ink (from Watercolor Words) onto a circle of Whisper White and layered it onto a scalloped circle, die cut with the Layering Circles framelits.  The scalloped circle is in Watermelon Wonder cardstock.

2 Finishing Touches:

  • finishing touch #1 was to add Daffodil Delight Enamel Shapes, either onto the tiny stamped flower (from the Biggest Birthday Ever stamp set), or just onto the circle.  I love those fun enamel shapes!
  • finishing touch #2 was stamping speckles from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set randomly onto each card front.. it helps fill the negative white space perfectly!

I couldn't decide which color cardstock I liked best for the folded card, so I just made a bunch :) with Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Pear Pizzazz.

The carstock base is 4-1/4" x 11", folded in 1/2.

So pretty, Patty. Thanks for sharing the different color combos of cardstock.

Patty, Loved the cards. I don't have real red, so what other colors would work. Thanks for your blog and help..
