Foxy Friends Kitty Card - Love to You!
Stampin' Retreat in a Box!

As Close As I'll get to Canning Fruit!

Stamping this fun card with the Jar of Love set and the Fruit Stand designer paper from Stampin' Up! is about as close to canning fruits or veggies that I will ever get!  My grandma used to can EVERYTHING and I have fond memories of watching her.. but I guess I'm just not that domestic.. It's not on my bucket list.. but I LOVE stamping with this fun stamp set!

The fun magic about this card is the window sheet die cut jars that I placed on top of the "fruit" jars!! It really makes them seem like glass canning jars!!  Oh, and the red lids.. cute touch!! :)

The fruit in the jars are pieces of the Fruit Stand designer series paper die cut with the Everyday Jars framelits!! How easy is that!?

I wasn't sure what sentiment to add to this card, then I decided to ink just parts of one of the greetings from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, using my Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker, and created my own saying "You're the sweetest" and I finished it off with a little Real Red Enamel Shape heart.  The tag is die cut from the Popcorn Box framelit set, and stamped with the "burlap" stamp in the Jar of Love set, but just very lightly and then sponged around the edges.

I stamped the jars on the window sheets with StazOn ink.

I combined 2 very different background papers on my card.  A woodgrain paper from the Serene Scenery paper stack, and the red polkadots from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  I added just 1/2 of a doily for that homey touch.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this card! This is by far the cutest thing I have seen done with this set and these framelits! I tried canning applesauce once with my daughters and while it was yummy, the store-bought unsweetened kind was inexpensive, just as good, and a lot less work! However, I do love homemade canned jelly.

Mary Ann Ely

Good morning Patty,,,,, I LOVE your card. You come up with the most awesome ideas I have seen. I would have never thought to use the window sheets. Very clever idea. I used to can EVERYTHING when my children were young. I loved it but yes, it took quite a bit of time. I canned mainly fruits and a few veggies, but liked to freeze my veggies better, had a better taste. I now to not like canned veggies from the store, YUCK.....I also canned beef, which is the best. That I miss. It was soooo tender and great for a quick meal. I don't have the room to can anything since my house is so small and no where to store the jars or I'm sure I wold be canning. Taste sooo good and so much better than store bought. Anyways Have a great day and I seriously LOVE your card. Keep up the great work. I learn soooo much from you.Catch you tomorrow morning. Off work for 2 days unless I get called in,lol,,,,, OOPs, see a boo...do not like canned veggies, lol

I really love this card!!! Can you say CASING?! Wanted to also say I loved the anniversary photo of you and your hubby ❤️❤️

Nanci

love you cute card with the jars and the fruit. My Grandma use to can every year and everything was so good but that is not me. I would rather stamp cards and make quilts. I tried to make jelly once but it turned into syrup so that was my last canning experience. Have a beautiful day!

Darling card, Patty! Such a clever idea. Love the colorful fruits on that DSP.

Tonya Denton

Tanya H

This is SO cute and clever!! I love the window sheets idea, and canning the fruit is awesome! :)

Karen Gerek

Patty, this is the MOST creative use of the "jars of Love" set that I've seen so far. Fabulous idea. I think I'm now definitely sold that I need to purchase this set!

Bronwyn Eastley

This is super cute. Always inspired by your creativity. TFS.

Beth K. Mills

This is now my kind of canning!! Just ordered the fruit paper so will have to save some prints to case your card! Use to make jams and can vegetables but with only two of us home now I don't find it's worth the effort ( so now my husband does it!!).

Karren

Hi Patty,

Oh, my, your cards are just perfect. They look like glass jars with actual food in them. I have done a lot of canning and making jam. I don't do canning much anymore, but pickled beets grown in my garden are just the best. If I lived closer, I would love to share. Thanks for the lovely idea. You always have the best ideas. It is small wonder why you are so good as a demonstrator!! I love to see what you are up to each day. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend.

Best wishes,

Karren

Sherry Cox

Super cute, Patty. Love this idea.

Julie Rae

Patty, I so agree with Karen: you always have the best ideas! Haven't seen anyone do better work with this bundle. How cute! I too canned when I was younger but I'm thinking this will become my preferred method of canning going forward-LOL. Thanks for all the great ideas you give us. Love yah!

Jeanne Moss

Patty, this is one of the cutest ideas I've seen using this set. Now, I have to have some of that DSP!

COLLEEN DALEY

Love the canning jars. It reminded me of a time when my son now 32 came home from school when he was like 8 or 9 and they were studying life in the 1800's. He told his teacher that I would love to make plum jam-all 32 jars for the class..I. guess he forgot that I had never canned before or maybe he just thought I was a Super Mom-but it was a success but my first and last time of making jam. By the way-where can I get those acetate clear sheets?

Also loved your ombre ink pad techniques

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Tina B

Patty,
This is the cutest card EVER!!!! I do a lot of canning and making jams, jellies, apple butter, etc., so that bundle was the very first thing I purchased when the new catalog came out!! I can't wait to make some of these cards with that set!! Thank you SO much!!!! Tina from Oklahoma

Michelle

Lol! Me, too! Love that paper and this set! So very clever of you to put them together - great matchup!

Gretchen

Love this card.. how did you attach the window sheets to the deco paper... without adhesive showing?

thanks, Gretchen from NY.

Ros Davidson

Thank you for an inspiring card. I used it as inspiration for my card, http://rosdavidson.typepad.com/ros_davidson_live_life_an/2016/08/try-it-thursday-6.html

Just love this card, Patty! Better late than never, I guess - I've saved it since posting almost a year ago and finally made one today and have decided it's not too tedious to do at my May stamp camp, since time is of the essence on the Fresh Fruit stamp set and Fruit Stand CS. You will get full credit. TFS
