I know you enjoyed the  Vivid Vases card I shared with you a week or so ago… we chatted about whether or not to put stems in the vase… well.. if you don't want to worry about stems, you can simply "create" solid vases for your flowers!  🙂

It's not difficult at all!

Let me teach you how!

STEP 1:  ink your Vivid Vases stamp with Black StazOn ink and stamp it on any patterned paper of your choice.  Here I selected a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Paper stack. You'll find that on pg 33 of the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.

{{disclaimer.. great minds think alike.. after I made this card I saw a similar idea by Brian King on Pinterest… too fun that we used the same paper, Brian!}}

STEP 2: Use your awesome Paper Snips from Stampin' Up! and cut out the vases. Be careful.. these scissors have SHARP tips… don't ask me how I know that! 🙂

STEP 3:  Stamp the Vivid Vases stamp on Watercolor paper, and use Multipurpose LIquid Glue to adhere the cut out paper vases over the stamped vases!

Color in the flowers and stems with your choice of Stampin' Write markers.

VOILA! Easy Peasy, right?

One of my favorite parts of this card is the Pool Party Scalloped Tag in the background.. doesn't that add a nice little pop of color in an unexpected way?  I think it does!

<<<  I   L O V E  this Salloped Tag Topper punch!

Just cut your paper or cardstock to a hair narrower than 2", slip it into the punch and punch!  Super cool way to get a tag of any length! and…

BONUS:  it's a great way to use up scraps!!!!

I used a Stampin' Up! White note card as my folded card, then added a 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" piece of flowery paper from the FREE Sale a Bration Sweet Sorbet paper pack, and I outlined a black border with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. See THIS POST for tips on drawing a border on your card.

I finished off my card by stamping on the bottom of the tag with the banner from the Perfect Pennants stamp set (pg 27 Occasions catalog) and adding an Color Boutique Details embellishment!
