I've been cleaning out, organizing, etc., and had a thought when I came across 2 boxes full of vintage cards, books, etc. ... BUT DON'T PANIC .. I didn't actually PUNCH the vintage items... see below for my solution :)
I made these beautiful paper flowers!!
SUPPLIES shown below: Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch (Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog, item 118073, pg 10), Pink Corduroy Buttons (Mini catalog, item 117681, pg 13), sponge daubers and ink, paper piercer and mat
Step 1: punch out 5 layers - either from old books and cards, or from reproductions (see below). Crumple each layer in your hand, flatten, then sponge ink around edges (I used Rose Red).
Step 2: pile up the 5 layers on the paper piercing mat and poke a hole thru all the layers with the paper piercing tool (add punched out circles if desired):
Step 3: place a button thru the center hole to secure all layers:
Step 4: start with the layer closest to the button, scrunch it up between your fingers
Step 5: repeat with all layers until your flower looks like this (I know.. pretty sad lookin'):
Step 6: open up all layers.. flattening them a bit, but leaving it somewhat 3-D
Aren't they pretty!!?? I just loved them! Next project is to add them to a card or other project... but.. that's next on the list.
OK>> SO >> my solution to NOT actually punch out vintage cards and books.... I xeroxed pages from old books and xeroxed old cards and punched out those! :)
Do you have the new fabulous Fancy Flower Punch?? If not.. you need it ! :)
