I {heart} Hearts Clear Mount Stamps

DSC00898 copyOK>  I'll be honest... I saw the I {heart} Hearts set on page 14 of the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog and thought, "I LOVE hearts... but I have soooooooo many heart stamps.. I don't need another one"... ok.. that lasted a week... THEN I BOUGHT IT ...  :)

So... can you guess why I did this with some of the stamps from my CLEAR MOUNT I {heart} Hearts set  and my I block ?  (that's the letter i , not the number one).

DSC00899 copy

When you mount several of the clear mount stamps onto one block, you can create a SUPER QUICK BACKGROUND !!

Here is a card we did in my Heart Treat Cups class yesterday using this technique:

For ORDERING info on the card above, check out THIS FLYER for our fun Heart Treat Cups and the Sweetheart stamp set!

and here are 2 more examples made with the heart "background" stamp:

UPDATE: Vintage Tablecloths

I wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for each and every heart-felt, passionate response, email and blog comment you have sent me regarding my Vintage Tablecloths!! :)

I received over 175 responses, most were comments on my blog, and some of you emailed me privately.  At first your responses were split about 50/50 saying either Don't cut them up and use them in other projects, or, yes, cut them up and do what you want - enjoy them - they are yours to do with whatever you want.

However, as the day went on, your responses definitely leaned toward DON'T cut them up..  wow.. I sure learned a lot about vintage linens in only 24 hours! :)  Thank you for all of your suggestions and links to amazingly interesting websites!!  I also searched on ebay for awhile, too.

Thankfully, one of my Stampin' Up! downline has a sister-in-law who is a local antique dealer who specializes in linens, so I am going to meet her on Tuesday for a little more input about these table cloths and a box full of other vintage linens I have - some dating back to the late 1800's!!

I will be happy to report back next week to let you know what I've decided to do.  I think I could have an aution here and sell them all based on the huge number of you who wanted to buy them :)  Thank you again for your interest, suggestions, etc.  Oh, and I'm definitely keep the geranium one.. that is my favorite, and was a favorite for most of you, too :)

You are all amazing!  Thank you for caring and sharing your knowledge and advice!

Non-Stamping Related: Vintage Tablecloths

I have a NON Stamping Related question that I need some help with.... if you have some input for me on this, please leave me a comment below.  THANKS!!!!!

I have had these amazing tablecloths for several years, inherited from my grandma.  I am guessing she accumulated them in the 1940's, 50's and maybe 60's ?  I have been wishing I could do something with them to be able to enjoy them.... we don't use a tablecloth at our table, so I was trying to figure out something else to do.

THEN.. it struck me..  I could die cut them into flower shapes to make those REALLY FUN flower pins!

Tablecloth 1

OK OK>> I know.. don't shoot me for saying that I'd cut them up .... BUT .. I'm at a point in my life where I don't want stuff in boxes.. I want to either GET IT OUT AND ENJOY IT, or just get rid of it.  I felt that if I made things out of these fun patterns I'd at least be enjoying the process and enjoying the end result.

So... here is my question.. does anyone know anything about these?  Are they valuable to collectors?  Is there something else I should consider doing with them?  LEAVE ME A COMMENT and let me know.. thanks!  If you have any websites or anything that might be helpful, leave that in your comment.

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks in advance if you have any words of widsom or input for me!

Sweet Pea Designer Paper card

One of the cards we made at Rita's workshop last weekend was kind of "out of the box" for me.. I seem to have been stuck on red and pink and black lately... but I branched out and used the SWEET PEA DSP from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog as my color inspiration for this project:

DSC00887 copy
The card is about 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" and fits into a folded Glassine Bag (item 117228, pg 19 Occasions mini).

DSC00889 copy

You can stamp on the Glassine bags and envelopes with StazOn ink! :)

DSC00890 copy

create a belly band for your envelope with a 1"x12" strip of DSP.

DSC00891 copy

or... you can run your glassine bag through the Big Shot with an embossing folder!!  I used the new polka dot embossing folder for this one (item 117335, pg 35 Occasions mini).

Here is a sampling of the SWEET PEA DESIGNER PAPER.. it's sooooooooo cute!

ScreenHunter_08 Jan. 25 20.08

I also used the Sweet Pea Stitched felt flowers.. oh MAN are they FUN to use!! :)  (item 117266, pg 32 Occasions mini catalog).

Recruiting Challenge!

Recruiting Challenge from Shelli Gardner!

As you know.. I attended the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference and Regional Seminar in Phoenix earlier this month.  Here I am with CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up!, Shelli Gardner:

Pb shelli
I have been blessed to know Shelli for almost 15 years.. she is a dear lady, wonderful mom and an amazing stamper, and I have enjoyed many chats with her at Stampin' Up! events and thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with her when I served on the Advisory Board a year ago.

Shelli issued a RECRUITING CHALLENGE to all demonstrators while we were in Phoenix.. the reward for the highest recruiters in certain categories is that SHE... SHELLI GARDNER... will COME TO OUR HOUSE AND PRESENT A WORKSHOP FOR OUR GUESTS!!   Oh my gosh.. can you even stand it!?   AND she'll come to a demonstrator event we plan for the same day!!  whooohoooo!

As you can imagine.. I would be THRILLED to have Shelli come to San Francisco and present a workshop here!!!  (oh ya, after I clean up my house!) :)  Anyway... if you have been thinking about signing up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, this is a GREAT time!!!  Right now, you get:

  • 15% off the price of the Starter kit (choice of 2 kits)   AND
  • any stamp set in the catalog (up to $47.95) FREE in addition to everything in the starter kit!
  • and of course, you would be a member of my downline: the Luv 2 Stamp Group and receive all of the perks and training that are a part of my group

If you would like to chat about becoming a demonstrator, I'd love to chat with you.  You can also find more facts and info about being a demonstrator HERE.

All demonstrators were given until 1/31/10 to participate in this challenge, which gives us one more week... sounds exciting, doesn't it!?

When talking to my husband and son about this recruiting challenge, my son said something really neat to me....

"Maybe some stampers will wonder if they have to know alot about stamping or be really good to sign up to be a demonstrator, but really, all they need is to love to craft and make friends and be with other stampers"  ~   Jason Bennett, January 2010

What a kid, huh?  I just love him!  I also asked him if I could sign him up! :) somehow I don't think that will happen anytime soon... if you see him on the cruise this year, maybe you can talk him into it!

Hope to hear from you soon if you would like to sign up and help me participate in this challenge!

Clear Mount Stamps - great tip!

OH>> I got such FUN MAIL the other day.. don't you LOVE getting fun mail!?  My friend sent me this AWESOME TOOL for using our new Clear Mount stamps from Stampin' Up!  She made it from our Window Sheets... so easy!! Just use the dimensions noted on pg 6 of the Occasions Mini catalog, cut the window sheets to size and then label them with a Sharpee marker! whoohoo!

This makes it so easy to lay these window sheet pieces OVER any stamp image in the catalog to see which clear mount block you will need.  Of course.. if you just buy the BUNDLE like I did, then you will have them all.... : )

Clear block templates

Here are some of our clear blocks that come in the Bundle... a few are packed up for my Workshop..

Clear blocks
Have you tried our clear mount stamp system?? I am really loving this system when I use a greeting stamp and need to stamp a greeting in a precise place... very cool and easy to do!

Clear block info
Please let me know if you have any questions about the Stampin' Up! clear mount system.

DO YOU KNOW HOW YOU CAN GET CLEAR MOUNT STAMP SETS FOR FREE!!??

Simply select them as your FREE Sale a Bration set choice when placing a $50 order! :)  4 sets to choose from plus 2 hostess sets!!

This project is a combination of ideas from Shelli's sample at Leadership and a swap I got from fellow demonstrator:  Suzy Halford.

2 tags candy wraps

Rita.. I hope you like it.. we'll be doing this at your workshop on Saturday! :)

2 tags die

2 tags candy back

The "friend" heart stamp (from I {heart} Hearts) is stamped in Real Red on Whisper White, punched out with the FULL HEART PUNCH (#113693), and LAYERED onto the Real Red heart die cut with the "Scalloped Heart of Hearts" embosslit die (#117332 - Occasions Mini Catalog)

My next idea featured the FABULOUS SIMPLY ADORNED line of Jewelry from Stampin' Up!

  Charms
The necklace above features the 1-1/2" x 2" Rectangle Charm (item #116799).

The bracelet showcases 2 each of the small 5/8" circle charms (item #117349) and the small 5/8" Square Charms (item #118476).  You will find all of these items in the Occasions Mini Catalog on pg 28.

Charm bracelet 3
Charm bracelet 1
I stamped and punched out 1/2" circles and cut out 1/2" squares to fill in the charms.

The back side of my necklace charm is not Valentine's-ish, but I thought I'd share it anyway:

  Charm necklace back
I hope you have enjoyed my projects... I hope you will enjoy the Simply Adorned jewelry line as much as I am.. it's so much fun to make as many inserts as you want and just switch them to match each outfit you wear!
