Clearly Amazing Window Sheet class by Patty Bennett

Last week I taught a class using the Stampin' Up! window sheets.  There are 3 different packs, sold on pg 169 in the catalog, but you really have to SEE these wonderful accessories to appreciate them!!!

Window sheet 1This window sheet is called Flower Fantasy and is a 12x12 sheet with vines and flowers printed on it... it coordinates perfectly with COTTAGE WALL Designer Paper.  LOVE this one!

FLOWER FANTASY window sheets: item 115705, pg 169

Cottage Wall DSP: item 115671, pg 160

Clearly thanks sheet This sheet is called CLEARLY THANKS and is 8-1/2"x11" and is meant to be cut into 1/4ths to make 4 cards.  The upper right has small polkadots but it's hard to see here.

CLEARLY THANKS window sheets: item 115122, pg 169

Seasonal pieces sheet

This 12x12 sheet is called SEASONAL PIECES.  It features enough printed pieces to make 7 projects and also has 2 embellishment pieces.

SEASONAL THANKS window sheets: item 115706, pg 169

And here are the samples we made in class this week:

BELOW: Using the upper left flower piece in the Seasonal Thanks sheet mounted on a Melon Mambo folded card.  Adhesive is placed under the area where the ribbon is, and also under a few flower centers.

Mambo flowers

BELOW: Using the Dandelion piece from the CLEARLY THANKS sheet, we used sponge daubers and chalk to color the images on the sheet!  The window sheet is adhered to the cardstock using brads in the flower centers.

Dandelions

BELOW: Using 4x4 pieces of the FLOWER FANTASY sheet, layered onto 4x4 pieces from the Cottage Wall DSP pack and Rich Razzleberry cardstock, we made these cards.   The window sheet is adhered to the card using Rhinestone brads in flower centers.

Flower fantasy 1 Flower fantasy 2 Flower fantasy close up

BELOW: and for the 4th card, we used this technique I learned at the Stampin' Up! Convention this month.  Use the printed Tree piece from the SEASONAL THANKS window sheet, and added more white "snow" using a brush (paint brush or dry aqua painter tip) and white CRAFT ink, then heat emboss that with Irridescent Ice emb. powder and a heat tool. Layer it onto any dark cardstock (this is Not Quite Navy).  The adhesive is under the trunk and under some branches.

Mary had a great alternate way to use the Melon Mambo DSP strip on the flower card:

Flowers mary

and PJ used Rhinestone brads on the Dandelon card and placed her ribbon under the window sheet:

Happy Stampin'.... go get some Window Sheets and start creating :)

TUTORIAL for Altered Stampin' Up! File Folder Note Pad holder

Thank you for all your fun comments and enthusiasm about the File Folder Note Pad Holder in yesterday's post!!  This idea was originally in the August edition of the Demonstrator exclusive magazine called Stampin' Success.  Stampin' Up! gave some instructions by phone and I received one of these from my fabulous downline Cindee at Convention, and then I came home and altered the instructions a little.

File folder legal pad

TIP:  to make one, I'd suggest starting with a plain manilla file folder for practice, then use the Stampin' Up! File Folders.

Note Pad Folder instructions

as seen in the August Stampin’ Success - page 26

Altered by Patty Bennett

1. Open folder, so you’re looking at the inside. Label tab will be on your right-hand side.

2. Score 1/2” to the left of the existing center score/fold

3. Cut 2-1/4” off left side – measuring from the tab.

4. Cut off excess ¼” along the bottom edge of the right side. (Part of the file folder on one is ¼”  longer than on the other)

5. Cut tab off right side.

6. Open folder and place left edge of folder at 12-1/2” and score, then move left edge of folder over to the 13” mark and score again.  You will now have 4 vertical score lines (SEE PHOTO)

7. Score horizontally 3-1/8” up from bottom edge.

8. Cut notch in bottom right corner (with scissors or cutter) where the horizontal score mark and vertical score lines meet. This transforms the right side into the flap of the notebook.  SEE PHOTO.

9. Fold bottom edge up along horizontal score, use a bone folder to give this a good crease.

10.   Fold on all vertical score marks, using a bone folder.  SEE PHOTO.

11.   Open bottom flap, put sticky strip at far left and far right (SEE PHOTO), fold up flap and secure with Sticky Strip to form pockets.

12.   Insert notepad into right pocket.  These are mini legal pads from Staples, approx. 5"x8".

13.   Adhere Velcro dot to flap and secure folder shut.

File folder score marks

(does anyone know how to draw a dashed line in Photoshop Elements?? I couldn't figure it out).

(Dotted window sheets from the "Clearly Thanks" package, item 115122, pg 169).

PATTY BENNETT'S PROJECT #2 - ABOVE & BELOW: this is a card we made at Valerie's Stampin' Up! workshop last weekend... the cardstock is Rich Razzleberry, the designer paper is Cottage Wall (item 115671, pg 160) and it's embellished with a strip of Old Olive that has been textured with the Finial Press Embossing Folder (item 115963, pg 195) and the Big Shot.  The scallop embellishment is a piece I cut with the Scallop #2 die/Big Shot and our On Board Chipboard sheets, then covered with Rich Razzleberry DSP and a stamped center and added a Jumbo Brad.

Stampin' Up! Convention - Riverton Tour

One of the reasons I was excited to have my husband and son come to Salt Lake City with me for our Convention was that I wanted them to see the Stampin' Up! headquarters in Riverton, Utah.  Stampin' Up! is gracious enough to let us tour the Riverton facility while we are at Convention!!

Here is my friend Jill and my friend Joy with me at the front door.  (it was really bright - Joy is squinting!)

Riverton front door

Upon entering, everyone just gasps at the beautiful atrium!

Riverton atrium

In the Legacy Room, I LOVED this display using our new Stencils (from the Decor Elements Catalog) - Shelli's "mom Pat" did this display.. isn't it just STUNNING!?

Riverton frames 1

Riverton frames 2

Riverton frames 3

Then we walked through the Demo Support/SAM section.

Riverton ds

Then a quick look in the Inspiration room - that conference room in the background is where we got to meet with the Corporate Team when I was on the Advisory Board last year.. too fun!

Riverton insp rm

THEN.. the part that I knew my husband and son would like.. the Distribution Center where all the products are stocked, and the pickline where the products are packed into our boxes!!!

I totally forgot to take a photo of the outside.. here is a photo from the company website of the amazing Stampin' Up! headquarters in Riverton, UT:
