Big Shot: Movers & Shapers die

I was playing with the Movers & Shapers die and the Big Shot  and I love how you can cut out the extra shapes and layer them with our punches.

The LIGHTER colored shapes are done with the Movers & Shapers die, and the white pieces are punched out with our punches.. don't they layer nicely?  {click to view larger}

Mover shaper 1

These square cards are approx. 4" square and were cut using the New Stampin' Up! Scallop Square die, and embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder!  Wow.. so many fun Big Shot products on one card! :)

Getting Ready for Convention - and a look back!!

I"m so excited.. I'll be attending our annual Stampin' Up! Convention next week in Salt Lake City!!!  I've only missed one Convention since 1995 when I signed up, so this is definitely a tradition for me!!

I've been making some tags for my gals attending convention so they can easily spot their bag amongst the thousands of bags:

Bag tags 2009

I made these with our new"Two Tags" Big Shot die (item 115954, pg 198) and put the Olive Green pattern from the Merry Moments DSP on the back.  I also added some of the wonderful new wide Olive striped ribbon to them.  That ribbon is luscious... it ties sooooooo nice and is sooooo soft!! :)

When I did my on line check in today for Convention, I got this message:

This is my dear hubby's birthday card.. Happy Birthday EB !!  :)

I stamped the Medallion stamp (item 115223, pg 133) with Basic Black Craft ink from Stampin' Up! and embossed it with clear powder.  I stamped it on paper from the GORGEOUS Nouveau Chic DSP package (item 115670, pg 160).

The background in the upper right is the new {fabulous} French Filigree background stamp (item 113742, pg 133) stamped in Basic Gray on Basic Gray C/S.  It's all mounted on a Basic Black folded card.

Flower Folds card

I LOVED this Flower Folds die in the Big Shot section of the new Stampin' Up! catalog, and needed to do a swap so decided to plan my swap around it... I got the layout idea from the VERY talented Mary Brown!  Thanks Mary for allowing me to use the design!

TIP: I wanted Jumbo Black Brads...

I wanted large and small black brads to go with my new Pendant Die Cut Note cards (pg 168)... so I just dipped my 5/16" and 5/8" jumbo brads (pg 179) in my BLACK STAZ ON pad (pg 190)... and voila.. large black brads!! No heat setting needed! :)

Pendant 1a

Above: the 5/16" black brad is set in the center of a black Jumbo Grommet (pg 179).

I used the new "Groom" specialty DSP (pg 158) behind the die cut Pennant notes.

My Story Scrapbook - part 1

This week I am teaching the "My Story" scrapbook class.  This is a spin off from the idea Jaron shared at Convention last year.

Pb cover

We used the 3-ring On Board Chipboard album (#112456, pg 185) and covered it with paper from the Wright Stuff DSP pack (#115674, pg 163) (I used ModPodge per the instruction suggestion).  The "My Story" letters are cut out with the Big Shot and the GREAT new alphabet die set called Simple Letters on pg 198.  Above is my cover.

Here are a few of the covers from my students:

Fancy Favor Die Boxes

Yesterday I posted a photo of the Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor box made with the Big Shot and the new Autumn Traditions DSP.... (see it HERE).. and today I have a few more boxes made with the same die and same DSP for you .... this time I did not fold on the gusset lines on the side, and I left the box open and added a handle... These are just SOOOOOOO cute... (for more examples, see pgs 2 and 3 in the catalog).  This was one of the projects we made in my Big Shot class on the weekend.

CF blog tour 1

Above: I think this is one of the BEST new dies in the Big Shot section in our catalog... it is called the FANCY FAVOR die (#115965, pg 200).  This box can be made with the gusseted sides as shown above, or can be a rectangular box as shown on pages 2 and 3 in the catalog.  I made the above box using the NEW Autumn Traditions DSP on pg 160 (Item 115668). I stamped the tag using my favorite new fall set called Falling Leaves (pg 27, item 115368).  The tag is attached to the bag with a Library clip (pg 179, item 112581).

CF blog tour 2

Above: Some flowerful fun with the new DSP called Tall Tales (pg 161, item #115678), and the new Embossing Folder on pg 195 called Finial Press (item #115963).  I used Regal Rose and Old Olive cardstock with some new Crushed Curry polkadot ribbon!

CF blog tour 3

Above/Below: This white cardfront was embossed with the new Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (pg 195, item #115964), and then I added a vase of flowers using the new Hostess set called Kind & Caring Thoughts (pg 16).  Colors used: Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.  The Vase was made using the Large Oval punch and Old Olive DSP.

Scallop Square with Lattice Die - Big Shot card

This is one of the quickie cards we made at my Big Shot class today... Using a 5"x9" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, folded in 1/2 we placed it on the Scallop Square die so that the fold would remain in tact.  (see this post for info on die cutting this type of card)  Then we cut a white Lattice piece and layered it with Dotto onto the folded card.  They had their choice of ribbon... fun and easy and quick!

Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder

Last weekend at Rita's workshop, one of the cards we made was this simple but elegant (and QUICK!) card:

Rita ws 3

It was as simple as running Whisper White cardstock thru the Big Shot with the NEW Elegant Bouquet Embossing folder (item 115964, pg 195), layering onto Rose Red and stamping a greeting.

I know you could embellish this card in many different ways, but sometimes quick, simple and elegant is just what you need!

Can You See It!!?? It's CLEARLY Fabulous!

They are CLEARLY one of the neatest new accessories in the New Catalog....

Window sheet 1

This is a 12x12 Clear/Printed Window Sheet called FLOWER FANTASY - you can find it in the middle of page 169 in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog (item code 115705) .... but honestly .. I think they are hard to see in the catalog, so I wanted you to see what they look like!

Here are 2 cards we did at Rita's workshop, placed on top of the Flower Fantasy sheet:

Window sheet 2

For these cards we used the new COTTAGE WALL Designer Paper (item 115671, pg 160) and layered the clear window sheet on top.  I cut the window sheet into SIX pieces, each 4"x5-1/4".

Rita ws 5

we used rhinestone brads to anchor the window sheet to the DSP and then snailed the whole thing on to a top-fold Rich Razzleberry card.

Rita ws 6

I LOVE these new window sheets!!
