BOO Pennant!

I got this fabulously fun idea from Founder's Circle achiever Dania Welch.. it is soooooooooooooo cute!!  I made these BOO pennants with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot Pennant die, the large circle scallop die and the Serif Essentials alphabet die.  You can see all of the dies in this brochure (CLICK HERE for the Big Shot brochure).

BOO banners

The tin was in the dollar spot at Target! yahoo!

The banner is sticky stripped to the wood dowel, and also held on by the ribbons which tie around the dowel.

Kit includes supplies to make TWO BOO pennants:

  • two Only Orange Pennant die cuts
  • two large scallop circle dies from SU! Ghostly Greetings DSP (paper will vary by kit)
  • two sets of "BOO" die cut letters in black and white (for layering - see photo), including eyeball circles
  • 12 pieces of ribbon to tie pennants to the dowels

You provide: dowel, adhesive/sticky strip and a 1/8" punch to punch holes for your ribbon

US Orders Only.  Orders will be shipped no later than Tuesday, Oct. 7th, via manilla envelope and 1st Class US mail.  Kit is $10.00 plus $2 shipping.

Birthday Book for Sharon

I am really happy with the way this little birthday book came out for my friend Sharon. I used the Big Shot Scallop die, cut off a few of the scallops to have a "flat area" to put into my Bind It All, and I decorated it with Bella Rose DSP.  I added Pink Pirouette "scallop die pages" inside.  Sharon always makes me such wonderful, fun projects, I wanted to make her something really special.  Enjoy!

EDITED TO ADD:  More info on the book...  I cut Pink Pirouette cardstock and the thin white chipboard sheets that come in the back of the packs of Stampin' Up! Designer Paper with the largest Scallop die in the Big Shot sales brochure, and for the cover I adhered the cardstock to each side of the thin cardboard.  The inner pages are just cardstock.

Have a super fabulous Sunday!

Happy 10 Years with Stampin' Up!, Christine!

One of my downline celebrated 10 Years with Stampin' Up! this week while I was in Utah.

Happy 10 Year Stampin' Anniversary!!

I wanted Christine to know how much I appreciated her friendship and her time with Stampin' Up! so I ordered 10 of my "Favorite Things" for her and made her a special card!

10 year gift

For those of you who have been around with Stampin' Up! for awhile you'll recognize this 10 year anniversary stamp from 1998! I thought it was a great addition to her card!

10 year card

I layered the 1-3/8" circle onto a 20 year embosslit die (for dimension) and layered that onto a scallop from the Pennant Big Shot die.

10 year close up

Don't you LOVE the new Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain from the Holiday Mini Catalog?  (available to customers on Wednesday!) :)

EDITED TO ADD:  several of you have asked, "so what ARE your 10 fave things that you gave Christine?"... so... in no particular order.. here is what I gave her:

Advisory Board Trip

Wow.. I have been in Utah for a week, and have spent the last 2 days in meetings with the Advisory Board, the Corporate Team and Stampin' Up! owner, Shelli Gardner at the headquarters in Riverton.  I am just overflowing with emotion and appreciation for this wonderful company and its leaders.  What a neat experience to hear from each Corporate Team member and learn about what their departments do at Stampin' Up!, and what an honor to be able to give our feedback and input!

Ups ken On the fun side.... here I am with UPS Ken (from Convention)... Brent brought UPS Ken into the meeting and we all cracked up!  I don't think I ever blogged about UPS Ken after Convention.. so a quick recap: There was a fun "commercial" shown on the big screens at Convention with Stampin' Up! Barbies and a UPS Ken, "advertising" to come to Convention next year!  Then a UPS man came on stage at Convention with a box, and said he had a delivery, then hundreds of UPS workers circulated throughout the audience and handed out FREE STAMP SETS to everyone!  We each got the Ronald McDonald House stamp set, as a gift from UPS for all the business Stampin' Up! gives them!  Anyway.. it was a hoot!

So.. it was really fun to see the real UPS Ken yesterday!

One of the highlights of the last 2 days for me was going through Brent's department and seeing the fabulously creative artists who design all our stamp sets, and seeing the mega-talented design artists who stamp the samples that go in our publications!  We also got to see how they decide what goes into the catalog on which page, etc., but if I told you any more than that, you'd have to shoot me... so.... my lips are sealed!

On the first day of meetings, we had lunch with Shelli and she gave us our Advisory Board rings.

After the first night of meetings, the AB had dinner with Shelli and a get together to get to know each other better.. it was a PJ party... here we are with Shelli in our matching PJ's:

Pj group

Last night we had dinner at The Roof restaurant overlooking the Temple.  We ate with Shelli and the Corporate Team and were able to give them more feedback, as well as visit and get to know them better.  We took a group photo after dinner:

I am headed home later today... I have a downline meeting this weekend.. so you may not see me on my blog too much in the next day or 2.. but I'll try to post some of the great Christmas cards from our swap at the Founder's Circle Retreat last week.

Have a great day!

Founder's Circle Farewell Dinner

Stampin' Up! does everything in such a grand and creative way... We did not know where we were headed for our Founder's Circle farewell dinner on Sat. night, but we knew it would be wonderful!  We piled into 3 buses from the Marriott and drove about 20 minutes to a country club (but remember.. we are in the dessert... think red rocks and cactus)... and Stampin' Up! had outdone themselves with an outdoor theater set up for us to watch a movie under the stars!!!!   We also had pizza, salad, tons of candy snacks, popcorn and soda!!

You can see the big screen set up in the center of the photo and the rows of chairs:

Our Visit to Stampin' Up!, Kanab, UT

The highlight of our Founder's Circle trip here in Southern Utah was to visit the Stampin' Up! manufacturing facility in Kanab, UT, about 2 hours from here (St. George).  On Friday, the Founder's Circle members boarded lovely busses and had a super fun bus ride to Kanab.  (they supplied us with endless snacks and bottled water and games to play and interaction with Shelli and the SU! staff!).

When we arrived in Kanab, we got off the bus at the SU! facility:

Once inside, I thought I'd apply for the receptionist position....

Here I am with my friend Stella in the lobby:

We took photos in Shelli's apartment, which is upstairs in this facility... I'll blog those later..

During our tour of the plant, we saw how the Stampin' Up! rubber stamps are made, from raw rolls of rubber, to putting all the pieces in the plastic container and putting it on the truck to Riverton for distribution... it was absolutely FASCINATING and so educational.  I love that show "How It's Made"... this was like being in our own "How It's Made" show!  We got to die cut some rubber stamp sets, and we got to package them up too!!  It was soooooooooooo fun!  No photos allowed.. so you'll have to close your eyes and imagine.

After a few hours at the manufacturing facility, we got on the bus for a short ride to a lovely park where Stampin' Up! treated us to custom made Subway Sandwich lunches:

Kanab lunch

THEN... this is so cool... we walked out onto the play structure area where Stampin' Up! donates crushed up defective or excess rubber to cushion the area under the structure.. it is the softest bounciest surface you will ever walk on!

Nancy said she got a pedicure just for this photo.. so I took the photo of her feet!

Isn't the colorful rubber just too cool?

Sometimes I have to pinch myself.. I still can't believe I'm on the Advisory Board.. here I am with my fellow AB members (I'm in the center, peeking through the ladder):

We rode the bus back to St. George and in our rooms, waiting for us where these gorgeous personalized necklackes!  They are FAB!!!

That pretty much wraps up Friday... I'll be blogging about our Saturday adventures soon.

The staff has been amazing here at the Marriott and of course the SU! staff outdid themselves! What an amazing trip this has been!
