Roses Roses everywhere!

We were having quite a wind storm here yesterday afternoon and I was worried that I'd be left with bare stems and no roses by the time it stoped blowing... so I ran out to my garden with both my camera and my garden snips... I took some photos and then cut a big bouquet to bring inside! Yay! I love the spring!

Roses - by the morning light..

I thought I'd try something different.. taking photos EARLY in the morning with the subtle morning light.  It gives everything a soft blue-ish tint... I realize I could have "Photoshoped" these photos to brighten them up, but I liked the look.   I have DOZENS of roses just ready to bloooooooooom all over the place...  yahoo!

Cruise to Bermuda - NYC Sail Away

The day we left NYC was a gorgeous day.. chilly but beautiful and sunny.  We love sitting in the Crow's Nest to relax, snack, drink, take photos, socialize, etc., and this "sail away" was no exception.

Road Trip.. I've been in L.A.

I drove down to the Los Angeles area on Friday to participate in a Stampin' Up! Downline meeting for my dear friend Michelle yesterday. It was loads of fun!!  It was fabulous to meet some new friends, put faces to "virtual friends" and reconnect with old friends!!

When I arrived at my hotel, I giggled to see "towel art" in the bathroom... I thought that only happened on cruises!!  LOL

Dsc00635_2

It's just a hand towel with the edge folded back like a collar and the washcloth folded for the tie.. what a hoot to do this for your husband or Dad on Father's Day!  LOL

Anyway.. I had a few hours so I made swaps for the meeting:

Cruise - NYC

Well, no, we didn't cruise TO NYC, but we flew there before our Stampin' Up! cruise to Bermuda.  The Cruise ship left out of NYC, so we spent a day and a half+ in NYC before the Cruise. It was awesome and made it like 2 vacations in one!

Here are some sights from our "pre cruise" days in NYC:

Times Square:

I Luv my Chic Stand!

My WHAT?  My Chic Stand!!

Dsc00602

And WHAT does it do??  It not only holds my paper piercer on my desk (where I can always find it!) but it makes setting brads a breeze.... check out Angie Kennedy Juda's Chic Stand video tutorial for ALL the details HERE.  Ordering info HERE.

We used it in my 3 classes this week and everyone LOVED THEM!!  Yahoo Angie for this awesome product!!  :)

Oh my GOSH! Look who came to class!

What a FUN class last night....  my mind is still whirling with excitement!!  5 East Coast visitors came to my class last night... it's a rather long story.. but in a nutshell: 4 sisters and one niece came to CA on vacation and they came to my class last night... one or two were surprising the other 3 or 4 with some sort of surprise ALL week, (including WHO was even coming on the trip!), and the last surprise was coming to my class last night!

Donna was not in on the "class surprise" part, and she was thoroughly surprised last night when I showed up to have dinner with the 5 of them and then when they came over here to participate in class!

Luv 2 Stamp Group meeting - part 2

One of the projects we did at our meeting last Saturday was the 2 pocket purse/tote with 3x3 Mini Love Notes inside.  You know my addiction to the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit.... well.. I had to use it for this project, of course! :)

They turned out so cute!

I originally saw the instructions on Melissa Rawlin's blog HERE.  I know several demonstrators have done this project, but I wanted to give Melissa credit for her great step by step directions!

Here is what a few of the demonstrators in my group came up with as they played with the supplies at the table (Summer Days SS kit, Die Cut Blooms, White Gel Pen, Striped Ribbon and White Taffeta Ribbon):

No, I don't have 7 boys...

I was framing some photos from the cruise (upper left, lower right) and one of my favorite things about putting new photos into our frames is... I get to see what's been IN that frame before (I just keep adding pix.. it's fun that way)!  So... isn't this cute??  No.. I don't have 7 boys... just one.. he's sure changed over the years, yet kept that fun (mischievous!?) look about him! Love ya, JB!
