Christmas Stamp A Stack Class

Outter_space_2 I think these little graphics are a hoot.. many of you have asked how I make them... go to and you can use their images and add your text, then save the .jpg to your computer!  Too fun!

So, anyway, back to stamping... I have a Christmas Card Stamp A Stack class this weekend, which I've been slowly prepping for... you see the physical therapist said I need to cut out the computer, stamping and gardening completely in order to help let my pinched nerve heal.  I have arthritis in my neck, which is pinching the nerve and making my arm and hand painful and tingly/numb.  Cutting out the computer and stamping? Not very conducive to someone who makes their living RUBBER STAMPING!??  YIKES!

But I'm limiting myself to little 20 minute spots of the computer or stamping each day... cuz goodness knows I can't cut it out 100%!!

Here is a sneak peek at a watercolor card we'll be doing in my Christmas Stamp A Stack this weekend.  The ink is Purely Pomegranate and the cardstock is watercolor paper, brushed gold, Purely Pomegranate and a vanilla base card.  I added the BUILD A BRAD for a bit of fun!

Blog posts will be a little sparse for awhile... I'll get on the computer when I can.

Happy Stampin' everyone!

Bronc Buster!

Ride 'em cowboy!  Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and prayers for my neck and arm and wrist.. they seem to be improving just slightly each day... so I played in my stamp loft for a little bit.  I just love playing with the western stamp sets and designer series papers!!  I used Blue Bayou as an accent on a couple of the cards and embellished the cards with one or more of the following:  Build-A-Brad, Star Punch, Vintage Brads, Photo Corner Punch, Jumbo Eyelets and the Key Tag punch. My inspiration for adding Blue Bayou to these cards came from my friend Maria!  I love that little pop of color! Enjoy!

These are square cards.. they are 4-1/4" square.. so they fit in the standard size envelope, but have a different feel than a typical rectangular card.  Kinda fun!

Goin' Boho!

I decided to play a bit with my Boho western stamps and designer papers... they are so fun to mix and match!  Here are a couple samples:

My inspiration for the card above came from Diane Gilbert... I liked her idea of using the Hodgepodge hardware buckle with the wide grosgrain ribbon!

And then I'm not sure where I was going with this card, other than I wanted to practice with my Coluzzle and I wanted try the Rhinestone Brad with the Jumbo Eyelet combo (idea on Beate's blog here)

here is a close up of the Rhinestone brad in the Jumbo Eyelet... gives it a whole new look, huh?

Happy Stampin' everyone!

New Stamp Set - Time Well Spent

Free_stamps_samp4c8511de787fc22e Stampin' Up! sent each active demonstrator a FREE stamp set!!  It will be a Level 3 Hostess set in the new catalog in January!!  Isn't that so very nice of Shelli to do??  It's called TIME WELL SPENT.  Due to the pinched nerve in my neck and carpal tunnel in my wrist, I am currently limiting my stamping time and am not using the Carl cutter... so my projects will be "limited" to say the least, until I heal and can stamp without pain.

I used my Oval Coluzzle template to make the 3 oval layers on this card... I used the corner rounder to give the middle oval a scalloped edge.   The greeting is from the set called "All Holidays" and I stamped 2 of the flowers from the new set, Time Well Spent, in the background.

Here is a funny WHAT NOT TO DO with your Coluzzle!!  LOL

Yep.. that was a DUH moment!

Happy Stampin'!

Holy Triptych samples

I'm sharing some gorgeous cards made by my dear friend Saundra!  She brought these to share with our class on Monday night, and they are just gorgeous!  Some are embellished with glitter (Saundra is my "glitter queen") {smile}, and one has microbeads on it!  Enjoy!

Scallop Circle Punch Ornament - hot tip!

Hold on to your hat... check out this FABULOUS TIP from Sharon in last nights stamping class... she used the Scallop Circle Punch and the DASHING Designer Series papers...Use the Scallop Circle Punch on the BIG POLKA DOTS and voila - a fun flower with a big colorful center!

We were punching out Scallop Circles for our ornaments... here is Sharon's ornament with the jumbo "flowers" made from the Dashing paper:

Cute Cute Cute with those jumbo polka dots, huh??

Post It Note Holder

Open_samp398821712c63f4ba Yep, I am "Open for Stamping" tonight!  I have more friends coming over for stamp class... here is another one of the Holiday Gift projects we are making (see yesterday's post for one more project).

I found these really fun Post It Notes at Michaels and they go so well with the Stampin' Up! colors! This makes a fun little gift and card all in one!

This is a typical size card, but the top flap was scored at 1" and folded back.  It is secured with Sticky Strip and eyelets.  We decorated it with Flowers for You paper (double sided) and added the embellishment which uses Rhinestone brads, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches and the Scallop Circle punch.  Saundra did the one on the left and I did the one on the right.

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Yep.. I'm back to stamping!! The house is 95% settled and back in place, so now it's back to stampin'!  Sorry for that minor GLITCH in my sharing over the past 3 or 4 weeks!

Here is a fun and easy Gift Card Holder we are doing in class tonight!  I got the idea from my upline, Sandy.  Her version is below (in red).

Dsc07982 Dsc07983

Here is a close up of the center that holds the gift card:

Dsc07984_2 And here is how you make it:

  • Cut cardstock to 4-1/4"x11"
  • Score at 3", 5-1/2" and 8"
  • Fold in 1/2 and then fold the outside flaps backwards in toward the center.

Dsc07978 Apply Sticky strip as shown, and then use the 1/2" circle punch and the Word Window Punch to create the slit and notch for the gift card to fit into.

Tip:  stamp before folding it and assembling it.

Here is the one I received from Sandy.. very cute!:

More sharing later.. class starts in 20 minutes!

Have a great evening!

God smiled on my garden!

Wow... God was smiling down on my garden last week even when I was stuck in the house with contractors!!  I was so sad to have neglected my garden all week, but OVERJOYED to see all the beautiful blooms yesterday when I ventured outside! :)  yeah!!

Doesn't my garden know it's mid-November already??  Lucky for me, it thinks it's May!

Have a great weekend, and maybe even a bowl of soup!

Almost back to stamping...

We are getting there... the house is coming back together slowly but surely.  The kitchen and downstairs bath are done... and we can finally "move back in" to our dining room and living room this weekend after the carpet gets cleaned tomorrow!  yahooo!  I cannot quite imagine life without contractors in the house... seems like a dream come true!

Since you cannot "see" the new pipes or the new wall texture... just believe me.. it's all done.   Everything is painted, and we are on our way back to normal.  My friend Tina asked, "ya, but what IS normal?"... I replied, "I'd settle for hot and cold running water on demand, 2 cars in the garage, and our furniture all in the correct rooms!"    :)

Here are a few updates on the Powder Room Redo!

The new light and mirror:

The new floor:

One of my dad's paintings:

Another one of his paintings and the VERY COOL Fan/Light fixture.. yes.. it's a fan too!  cool, huh?

I started a website for my dad.. I need to add a lot more of his work.. but he's SUCH a talened watercolor artist we wanted to showcase some of his pieces!! If you want to check out his work you can see it here

Have a great weekend.. I'll have stamping projects to share in a few days!

Home repairs... almost done...

The best part about painting.... being done...

Dsc07916 Dsc07917

We got to do some painting this weekend after the drywall contractor finished spraying the texture on all the new sheetrock on Friday - we ONLY have 7 more gallons to go!! LOL

Here are a few pix from Friday (texturing the new drywall)...  crazy!

Dsc07915 Dsc07908_2

Dsc07905 Dsc07909

My mind is still boggled over the fact that all this happened over a broken pipe!  I don't wish this on anyone!!

Silver linings to this whole ordeal:

  • I got an additional hose spigot in the backyard with the new piping
  • we ran phone wire through all the holes and put in 2 additional phone lines
  • the downstairs powder room is getting a much needed face lift after the 5 holes in there were repaired and the whole room was retextured
  • most of the downstairs will have a new coat of paint

So.. it's not all bad... just a few weeks of total chaos and inconvenience and a ton of money.  {sigh}

I'm in the midst of stamping my "Holiday Gift Class" samples, so will have goodies to share sometime this week!

Have a great week everyone!

~ Patty
