Fun with Apple Cider... paper that is!

So I got this BRAINSTORM idea.... you know how it happens... stuff is sitting in front of you at your stamp desk and you say, "Hmmmmmmmmm wonder what would happen if I used this AND this together"... and voila...  So.. my new Apple Cider Double-Sided Designer series paper (from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog) was sitting in front of me and so was my Scallop Circle Punch, and, well.. here's what happened>>>

So how fun is that!!?

You are gonna LOVE this tip!

I just couldn't WAIT to try out this great tip that I learned from demonstrator Tammy Martin.. check this out!!!!

Use a BRAD to secure the stick pin from the Pretties Kit - put it all the way through the paper or cardstock and it holds your beads in place and holds the entire pin in place too!!  WAHOO! Tammy, YOU ROCK!

Here's the card I made using her great tip!

Flip Album Fun !!

Know what??  My job is just TOO MUCH FUN!!  {insert large smile here}

Next week I am teaching a Flip Album class and I used the Round Up Simply Scrappin' Kit for my sample.  I had some fun photos from the Stampin' Up! Panama Canal Cruise that fit the "Wanted" theme, so I used those photos and my Wanted set to embellish the album.

Here are a couple samples... more samples to be posted next week after the class.

A Blast from the Past... and I DO mean THE PAST!

I mentioned I was cleaning out and organizing my stamping loft over the weekend... it all started because my friend Heidi emailed me a link to this AWESOME scrappin'/crafting room, and I just had to get on the ball and get more organized!!  In the process, I have been finding tons of old stamped cards.. most of which I made.. some were swaps/gifts... all the way back to the early 1990's!!!  (ok, that sounds like I'm talking VINTAGE.. not quite.. but close!) LOL  I also found all my old class schedules from 1995 to present.. what a hoot to look back on those!

I just had to pull out some of my old favorites from when I first became a demonstrator.... how many of you remember "the old days" when Stampin' Up! sold stamps from OTHER companies (gasp! I know.. it's true!)!?

Here is a walk down memory lane... or a blast from the past.. or whatever you'd like to call it...  enjoy!

Aye Carumba, Batman!

Oh my goooooodness!!  My blog reached 25,000 hits sometime last night!!!  You guys are amazing! Thanks for visiting me so often and for all your kind comments!!

It's hard to believe that this blog has had over 25,000 hits in its 3 month existance, and my website www.MyStampingSpot.com has only had 36,000 hits in over 4 YEARS!  I guess a lot of you are like me and love to BLOG HOP to view the latest creations by our stamping friends!!  I have my list of favorites that I visit everyday and always look forward to seeing what you all have come up with.

I've been organizing in my stamping loft, so no new stamped creations to share just now... but stay tuned.. more to come soon!

A 49er Birthday SURPRISE!

Many of you have asked how the BIG SURPRISE party for my husband turned out in late July... so I thought I'd post a few photos!  My husband is a HUGE San Francisco 49er fan, and has talked for years about a 49er theme party when he turns 49... so... little did he know.. I'd been PLANNING on that for years, too!  About 55 friends and family helped us celebrate and he was truly surprised!!  It was a great evening!!

Here is the SURPRISE! as we walked in the room:

Don't forget to CHECK THE BOARD...

One tip I learned at our Leadership Conference last January was to offer a SPECIAL OF THE DAY at your classes, good ONLY that day... so I used an extra Write On/Wipe Off board that we had hanging around, and colored our Chipboard letters and adhered them to the board with Sticky Strip and Glue Dots!  I decorated the letters with flowers from the Build A Flower Accents & Elements tin.  Now I just have to write the special with a write on/wipe off marker each time.  Such a fun way to use the chipboard letters!

So don't forget to CHECK THE BOARD each time you come to class!

What makes me HAPPY?

As I spent time in my garden this morning, I was thinking about all the things that make me happy... and toward the top of my list is:  Cutting flowers from my garden and putting them in a special vase to enjoy in my home!!   Hope you enjoy my bouquet from today.... wish you could SMELL THEM!!  They are devine!

A cool tip for the 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

Oh I just LOVE it when I figure something out... {grin} .. I used our 3/4" Square Punch to punch a small "slit" in the fold of my card so I could feed the 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon through it and tie it around the card!!  Hee hee... don't ya love it!?   Sorry.. you can't see the whole card yet since it's one of the cards we are doing this Monday/Tuesday in my Brocade Background Paper class. I'll post the finished projects on Tuesday night or on Wednesday.

    5 Petal Flower & Punch

Several of you have contacted me to ask how I got such a nice white border around this flower:

    Dsc06920

in the card I posted last night from my Stamp A Stack Class yesterday...  it is SO easy and everyone loves this... when you stamp the 5 petal stamp from the Ginormous Flowers set and then punch it out with the 5-Petal punch, you get that PERFECT WHITE BORDER!

I am going to send an email to Stampin' Up! right now suggesting that they create and sell SEVERAL "Punch Kits" with one stamp and one coordinating punch... I just LOVE this idea! I think that small kits with one punch and one matching stamp would be a HUGE hit!  I know I'd BUY THEM ALL !!
